Quattro Pazzi in Fairfield Celebrates 30 Years With New Look, New Menu Drop & Happy Hour

Jessica Ryan

Some things are worth commemorating, especially when you’re a restaurant celebrating your 30th Anniversary. Congratulations to Quattro Pazzi for your excellence in food and service over the past three decades!

Quattro Pazzi, known for their house-made pastas and fresh dishes with influences from Mediterranean was founded by Gino Riccio in 1997. Today, the restaurant continues to focus on fresh, vibrant ingredients and flavors. Riccio, who in recent years has stepped away from the kitchen, trained under world-renowned chefs, was known merging traditional recipes with today’s inspirations, and more contemporary influences, which the restaurant still practices today.

Over the decades the restaurant has seen expansions and renovations. Alongside the interior’s most recent make-over, the menu has seen a refresh as well, with dishes that align beautifully with these warm summer months.

In addition to the new menu items Quattro Pazzi recently launched their Happy Hour. Stop by at the end of the afternoon and enjoy a little aperitivo with your beverage. Why not then stay for dinner and check out some of the items that are new to the menu.

The Pan seared Cod Marechiaro features a delicate piece of flaky fish served over pearls of Sardinian couscous, accompanied by mussels and clams in a light tomato-based sauce. Named for a small village in Italy, Marechiaro translates to “clear sea.” Close your eyes and you’re no longer in the bustling Fairfield center, but somewhere on the Italian coastline.

Known for their fresh, house-made pastas, the Pappardelle With Short Rib Ragu is insanely decadent. A generous serving of pappardelle is topped with a rich, creamy cheese-forward sauce, a gremolata of finely chopped herbs and grated Parmesan. With so much going on here, this large dish that’s even bigger in the flavor department is best saved for a big appetite.

The Summer Chicken Milanese topped with sweet corn and served over a crips Romaine tossed in Caesar served with crisp croutons offers diners a summery twist on your favorite classic that these guys do so well.

The Spicy Jalapeno Fettuccine features crispy calamari, tomatoes, red chili peppers and jalapeno. As if these temperatures aren’t hot enough! Who’s not afraid to turn up the heat? While the calamari and spicy peppers might seem like an unlikely pairing with the bowl filled with soft al dente ribbons, this fun twist offers multiple layers of flavor and texture.

Whether you’re watching your waistline, a vegetarian or simply wanting a delicious vegetable dish, let me steer you over to the Grilled Mixed Summer Vegetables with Red beet Hummus. The well-seasoned summer squash, zucchini, petite carrots, white and purple cauliflower bites are carefully plated over the jewel toned hummus and is as delicious as it is beautiful. Enjoy this as a light meal on its own or as an appetizer.

There are days during the summer when only a salad will do. The Arugula & Endive is flavor-packed. The sweetness from the candied walnuts, seems to dance with the salty, earthiness of the Gorg, the ever so slightly bitterness of the lettuce and the sweet acidity of the shallot vinaigrette. This simple dish with complex flavors is entirely satisfying.

The La Scala Salad is a fun ode to its namesake with a twist. Romaine, Chickpeas, salami, Mozzarella, Red onions and radish makes – in my humble opinion – this version far superior to the original.

Whether Quattro Pazzi is an old favorite or you’ve yet to try it out, this restaurant really should be on your radar – there are new dishes to be discovered all around. Come see why they’ve been so successful after so many years, and are still killing it!
