Bartaco's Signature Libelula Tequila Now Available in CT + Margarita Recipe

If you love Bartaco’s signature margarita we have great news… the tequila used to make their cocktail is now available for purchase in liquor stores across Connecticut!  Libelula tequila made its official debut in the Connecticut market in January 2017, but as the summer months approach it’s becoming more and more visible on shelves throughout the state.

“This is the exact tequila used to make Bartaco’s world famous margaritas!” says Curt Goldman, the Executive Importer of CNI Brands, longtime partner of Bartaco group.  “No change whatsoever!”

CNI Brands also imports Combier Liqueur d’Orange, a key ingredient in Bartaco’s signature margarita.  When Bartaco was on a mission to find a tequila that was authentic, affordable, and high quality, CNI assembled a team and sent them to Jalisco, Mexico to create one specifically for them.

Unlike other tequilas that are classified as blanco, reposado, and anejo based on the aging process, Libelula is a blend of 25% reposado and 75% blanco.  It is classified as “joven,” or “young” tequila.  The blend makes it smooth and complex- the perfect choice for a margarita.

Tequila aficionados will recognize esteemed brands like Casamigos, Avion, and Clase Azul.  Libelula is produced by the same distillery and uses the same blue weber agave plants.  At around $20 for a 750mL bottle, it is a steal.

Libelula is available for purchase at Stew Leonard’s (Newington, Danbury, Norwalk), Glen Liquors (Darien), New Canaan Wine Merchants (New Canaan), Costless (Stamford), Harry’s (Fairfield), Super Discount Liquors (Torrington), Wine Thief (New Haven), Oxford Liquor Shoppe (Oxford), Lordship Wine & Liquor (Stratford), The Liquor Mart (Wallingford), and many, many more.
