They say life is a highway… and it’s a good thing too because more food trucks are hitting the streets than ever before!  Connecticut is home to a bevy of mobile eats serving everything from crepes to tacos to meatballs to grilled cheese.  Here are over 50 food trucks based in the Fairfield County area.  Stay tuned in the coming weeks as we cover even more in New Haven, Hartford, and Beyond!

  1. Milkraft Milktruck, Fairfield: Milkcraft has a Milktruck! They are available for private events and have had as many as 500 customers waiting in line when the truck hits the road.

  2. MamaKitchen, Stamford: MamaKitchen just opened in Stamford on Richmond hill in front of Jackie Robinson Field. It serves up authentic Dominican fare and is the first Chimi truck in the area.

  3. Seaside Sliders, Norwalk: Seaside Sliders by Mr. Frosty's is exactly what the name implies- hand-crafted sliders!

  4. Daniels Food Truck, Stamford: Daniel's Food Truck in Stamford is Guatemalan American fare on-the-go. They have everything from breakfast to burgers to "shukos" to tacos.

  5. Jefes Tacos n Grill, Stamford: Jefe's Tacos n Grill makes authentic Mexican food with fresh ingredients and seasoned spicy marinated meats cooked on a flat top grill. They also salads and burgers.

Through the end of May, b Restaurants are celebrating National Burger Month with “Burger & a Bud” all day, every Monday.  $10 will get you a Big Mini with Fries and a 12oz Budweiser bottle.  A portion of the proceeds will benefit the veterans’ charity, Folds of Honor.

On Thursday May 31, Basso Café in Norwalk presents a wine dinner.  The theme of the meal is “a celebration of Piemonte, La Toscana and Venetto's fare and wines.”  Guest speaker Larry Smith, Wine importer and Wine & Spirit Trust graduate, will be on hand to answer any questions.  Chef Renato Donzelli will make delicious fare to complement the vino.   

George Home in Washington Depot, CT will host the authors of CAKE, Maira Kalman and  Barbara Scott-Goodman,  on Saturday June 2 from 2-5pm.  There will be bubbly, cakes and a book signing.

Artisan Restaurant now has Social Hour!  From 4-7pm, 7 days a week, enjoy cocktails for $6, Rose for $5, Beer for $4, and rotating food specials.  It’s the perfect way to enjoy the patio when the summer gets nice!

Tarry Lodge in Westport now has “Aperitivo Hour.”  Join them at our cocktail bar for small plates for $5 and select wines and cocktails for $10.  It is available from 4-6pm, Monday-Friday

On Monday May 21, Cask Republic presents a Beer Dinner in conjunction with No Worries Brewery.  There will be a welcome beer along with a four course meal an dbeer pairings.  It starts at 6:30pm and costs $65 per person.  Call Cask Republic Stamford at (203) 348-2275 to reserve.

Woodbury Restaurant Week runs from May 19 through May 25!  14 restaurants are offering prix fixe menus, discounts, and other specials in honor of the event. 

Artisan Burger Company hosts a Two Roads Brewery Wine Dinner on Monday May 21.  It costs $60 per person and runs from 6:30-9:30pm.

Temperatures are finally rising and all the snow is- dare I say- gone, so it’s time to get your sunglasses and head out for some outdoor dining!  Connecticut restaurants are opening their patios and decks for the season.  Whether you want a waterside view, a rooftop rave, or to get cozy by a firepit, there’s an alfresco experience waiting for you.  Here are over 107 places to eat outside in Connecticut this summer.

  1. The White Horse, Litchfield: The White Horse Country Pub & Restaurant has both a deck and a patio so you can enjoy brunch, lunch, or dinner along the river.

  2. Grano Arso, Chester: Grano Arso has 12 seats outside where guests can order from the full menu.

  3. The Whelk, Westport: Overlooking the quaint Saugatuck River, The Whelk brings sustainable, local seafood and ingredients to the lips of its diners.

  4. The Place, Guilford: The Place in Guilford, is about as outdoors as you can get without going camping. Tree stumps are your chairs, outdoor fires cook your meal and the menu hangs outside over it all.

  5. The Beer Garden at Shippan Landing, Stamford: The Beer Garden at Shippan Landing in Stamford is now open for the season. Families and pets are welcome!

  6. Swyft, Kent: Swyft in Kent can seat 25 guests on the patio and they also have a few tables on the porch.

  7. The Tavern at Gray Barns, Norwalk: The Tavern at GrayBarns sits in the space that once housed Silvermine Tavern. It has all been redone and reopen. Take it all in on their patio.

  8. Mill Street Bar & Table, Greenwich: Mill Street Bar + Table in Greenwich has a tavern atmosphere that’s elegant yet warm and homey. Cozy up on their patio on a starry night at this neighborhood favorite alongside the Byram River.

On Monday May 14, Chef Luke Venner of elm in New Canaan will cook at the historic James Beard House in NYC!  The event begins at 7pm, and tickets are $135 for members and $175 for the public. 

Visit Fletcher Cameron Kitchens in New Haven for a mixology and tapas event featuring Barcelona Restaurant & Wine Bar on May 16.  Learn the basic history of tapas and about great cocktails to pair with them.  Signed copies of The Barcelona Cookbook: A Celebration of Food, Wine and Life will be on sale as well.   

Yoga and beer collide at Still Hill Brewery on May 16.  The Rocky-Hill based brewery invites you to a one hour yoga session… complete with a pint of your choosing!

The 5th Annual Ridgefield Gone Country BBQ Festival in Ridgefield starts Saturday May 5 at 11am and runs through Sunday 5pm. The Event will be held at the Historic Lounsbury House at 316 Main Street. Tickets: $10 for adults and $5 for students. Children under 12 are FREE.

Sunday, April 29th, Half Full Brewery is hosting a pig roast with Hoodoo Brown BBQ. Doors open at 12:00 for beers, starting at 1:00 Hoodoo will be serving up BBQ Wings (tossed in Red Bee Honey Sauce), and a Pig Roast that will feature a whole hog, apple-vinegar slaw, slider buns, cornbread, and mac and cheese. Reserve tickets here.

Tickets for The Schoolhouse at Cannondale’s Farm to Fork series go on sale May 1. Each evening includes a cocktail hour, a farm tour, and four locally sourced courses under the stars by Chef Tim LaBant. It takes place at Millstone Farm in Wilton, CT.

CLASP Homes 14th TASTE OF WESTPORT will take place on Thursday May 3 from 6-9pm at the Westport Inn. Enjoy samplings of specialty dishes from Amis, Harvest Wine Bar, Hummock Island Oysters, Pearl at Longshore, Saltwater, Bobby Q’s Cue & Co., Tablao, and more. There will be plenty to drink as well! Stratford Restaurant Week will take place from April 22-28.  Participating restaurants include neighborhood favorites like Riverview Bistro, The Beach House Grill, Outriggers, Joey C’s, Paradise Pizza, The Lazy Dog Tavern, Kama Sushi, and more. 

Food Rescue US, the direct-transfer food rescue organization dedicated to ending food insecurity in America, is thrilled to present their signature fundraising event, Food for All on Wednesday April 25.

April is National Grilled Cheese month, and Fairfield Cheese Company is celebrating with a class called “Beyond Kraft Singles: Grilled Cheese.”  Join them on Tuesday April 3 from 7-9pm.  It costs $50 per person. 

Jesup Hall is launching their new Happy Hour Tuesday April 3rd. Dimitrios Zahariadis from Litchfield Distillery and Highland Brass Company will be joining Craig Ventrice behind the bar serving specialty cocktails, snacks, burgers and more! The Happy Hour will run Tuesday-Friday from 5-6pm.

Food and drink meets art at Brother Jimmy’s on Tuesday April 3.  The New Haven location is extending their happy hour specials and hosting a Paint Night from 7:30-9:30pm.  $25 and tax includes the canvas, easel, paint, brushes, and apron. 

Brewport is honoring First Responders on Tuesday April 3 from 3:30-5:30pm.  Show your badge and get some pizza on the house.

On Monday, March 26, Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana will kick off its "Good Neighbor Day" program.  Each restaurant will donate 10% of all lunch and dinner sales made on March 26 to a deserving community partner. 

Fairfield Cheese Company presents “Goat-a-Palooza” on Thursday March 29 from 7-9pm.  $50 includes a tasting of different kinds of goat cheeses as well as wine pairings. Watertown Gridiron's 1st Annual Wing Competition will go down on Monday March 26!  7 local restaurants will compete to see who makes the best wings.  Come by between 5pm and 9pm, taste some wings, and vote for your favorite.  Tickets are $13 per person and children 5 and under are free. 

On Tuesday March 27, Marina Marchese of Red Bee Honey will be at the Trumbull Library to discuss her seventeen year long journey into beekeeping and honey.  Guests will have the opportunity to taste Red Bee honey, purchase her books, and hear from her.  The event is free, but register online to guarantee seating. 

Flavors of Connecticut is an annual culinary gala that spotlights 35 of our states hottest chefs and restaurants. This year, it will take place on Tuesday March 27 at the Aqua Turf Club in Southington.  Edward Allen of Foxwoods Resort Casino will be the honorary chef alongside a line-up of local talent.

Woodbury Restaurant Week is here!  It takes place from March 19-25 and includes Al’s Best Pizza, Carlito’s of Woodbury, Carole Peck’s Good News Café, The Charcoal Chef, Constantine’s, The Curtis House Inn, John’s Café, Market Place of Woodbury, The Olive Tree, Papa’s Main Street Deli, San Remo, The Split Rail, The Woodbury Brewing Company, and The Woodbury Diner.  .

Stew Leonard’s Norwalk store is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt Eggs-Travaganza starting at 4 pm on Monday, March 19. Children under 9 will be given a map of Stew Leonard’s and a bag to collect eggs from costumed characters throughout the store, including Wow the Cow, Cynthia Chick, and Daphne Duck among others. 

South Avenue Butcher in New Canaan continues their Butchery Classes on Tuesday March 20.  Mike The Butcher will teach you everything you need to know about the animal, as well a knife skills, techniques, and recipes.

The meal will showcase barrel-aged and cask ciders alongside Irish classics like Shepherd's pie, Irish sausage, cabbage, potatoes, 12 hour smoked corned beef, and more.

Two Roads Brewery in Stratford invites you to an “Open Roads Beer Dinner” on Monday March 12 at 6pm.  Christie Caters- Farm to Table Catering will provide tasty food and each course will be paired with an 8oz pour of a Two Roads brew. The menu theme is "Around the World.” 

In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, Artisinal Burger Company in Manchester will have an Irish whiskey dinner on March 14.  Tickets are $65 per person. 

Aditi Goswami of Calcutta Kitchens will teach you how to make simple everyday Indian at Wakeman Town Farm on Thursday March 15. Learn to prepare a quick chicken curry, a vegetable curry, and rice pilafs. Don’t forget to BYOB!  The class is limited to 16 and costs $65. 

Max Amore Restaurant in Glastonbury hosts An Italian Wine & Food Pairing Dinner featuring the wines of Di Majo Norante on Tuesday March 13.  The evening will begin with a reception followed by a five course meal prepared by Chef David Stickney.  It costs $85 per person, plus tax and gratuity.

During the month of March, Artisan Restaurant in Southport will feature “Bon Voyage Menus.”  Chef Frederic Kieffer has created four menus highlighting four distinct global cuisines.  First up- Italy from March 1-11!  The prix fixe menu is $19 for lunch and $45 for dinner.

The Westport Farmers’ Market, Fleishers Craft Butchery, and Patagonia Provisions will present a screening of the award-winning Sundance documentary LOOK & SEE, a powerful cinematic portrait of Wendell Berry- farmer, activist, and undoubtedly one of America’s most significant living writers.  The film will be screened on March 5 at Fairfield Theater Company.
