Nom-eez in Bridgeport has debuted “EEZ Wake Up Wednesdays.”  Stop in every Wednesday until 11:30am to get a classic breakfast sandwich, coffee, and a donut for just $5!  It has us saying “Pl-EEZ, we want it!”

This week, Max's Chef to Farm Dinner series is all about "Cigars, Bourbon & Steak.”  Head over to the Connecticut Valley Tobacco Museum on Thursday August 18 at 6:30pm for a reception, hors d’oeuvres, a multi-course meal, wines and beer, a museum tour, select cigars, and live music.  It costs approximately $188 per person.  

The 42nd annual Milford Oyster Festival takes place on Saturday August 20 starting at 10am.  The festival boasts over 35,000 oysters, crafts, food, rides, and more.  This year, Blue Oyster Cult and the Marshall Tucker Band will perform.  

Black Rock has announced its first ever Black Rock Porchfest on Saturday August 20.  The day celebrates the “music, people, and place” that make up the community.  The day features live music on porches throughout the neighborhood.  Black Rock is also home to a plethora of dynamic restaurants and food trucks- both established and new.  

The DORO Restaurant Group and Sub Edge Farm’s Hadley & Occum Farm Dinner Series celebrates Connecticut’s wine and food.  Their second night of it takes place on August 18 and features Chef Jared Posocco of Àvert Brasserie.  The dinner includes a farm tour and a meal cooked on site from the day’s best ingredients.  It costs $99 per person.  

Back 40 Kitchen in Old Greenwich has debuted a new happy hour.  Visit them Tuesday-Saturday from 5-6pm for half-priced beer and wine by the glass.  They will also offer a 2 course prix-fixe meal for $25 per person.

The CT Beer Trail and Branford’s Breweries are teaming up to offer a bus tour on Saturday August 20.  A coach bus will take participants to DuVig Brewing, Stony Creek Brewing, Thimble Island Brewing, and DuVig Brewing.  There are 5 departure times: noon, 1:20pm, 2:50pm, 4:20pm, and 5:50pm.  Tickets are $20 and must be purchased in advance.

The New England Orchard Cookbook by Linda Beaulieu hits shelves on September 16.  The book contains photographs and 100 recipes from orchards across New England.  A full chapter is devoted to Connecticut orchards.
