Connecticut-based media personality, content creator, and cookbook author Alex P. Taylor, nicknamed the “Nacho King,” will release his debut cookbook, Totally Nachrageous: Next-Level Nacho Recipes for Parties, Game Days, and Crowd-Pleasing Fun, nationally on August 25, 2026, through Harvard Common Press, an imprint of Quarto Books US.

Totally Nachrageous is not just a cookbook. It is part 1980s time capsule, part celebration of food and life, and a full-on invitation to embrace joy, turn up the music, and bring people together.

The book takes nachos beyond the expected with shareable recipes designed for gatherings, celebrations, and everyday fun. Through 70 inventive original recipes, nostalgic pop culture references, playful storytelling, and “Snack Tracks,” which pair each recipe with a song suggestion from the era, Taylor invites readers to immerse themselves in a full kitchen party experience. The book also features Taylor’s curated list of the most creative and unique nachos he identified across the United States and Puerto Rico, further reinforcing the cookbook’s national scope.

Vibrant photography by Lisa Nichols of Bread & Beast Food Photography captures the color, personality, and wow factor behind Taylor’s nacho creations.

“I’m not a celebrity chef,” said Taylor. “I’m just a Connecticut nacho guy with big dreams, taking life one chip at a time. This book is about taking something fun, nostalgic, and full of possibilities and giving nachos the kind of national cookbook moment they deserve.”

Taylor has spent more than 20 years in the hospitality industry and has built a growing media platform through his high-energy content, restaurant storytelling, media appearances, and signature nacho-forward brand. His work has earned him recognition as Best of Hartford Social Media two years in a row, and he has appeared on numerous television and radio platforms including Great Day Connecticut on WFSB, FOX61, WTNH News 8, 96.5 TIC FM, Bravo’s Below Deck, FOX’s Hell’s Kitchen, and HBO’s Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.

With Totally Nachrageous, Taylor brings his personality, humor, and love of nachos to the page. The cookbook features showstopping nacho builds, playful sidebars, nostalgic references, and recipes designed to inspire home cooks to have more fun in the kitchen. The book leans into Taylor’s belief that craveable food can be accessible, approachable, and fun to make at home, especially when it’s made with others and shared with a crowd.

“Nachos bring people together,” Taylor said. “That’s always been the heart of this. If someone walks away feeling inspired to embrace what they love, keep chasing their dreams, and not give up, then I’ve accomplished what I set out to do.”

The release of Totally Nachrageous marks a major milestone in Taylor’s growing national brand. What began as a niche food identity in Connecticut has expanded into a broader platform centered on creativity, entertainment, and the belief that anything is possible, especially when it comes to nachos.

“Connecticut is my foundation, and I’m incredibly proud of that,” Taylor said. “But this book is part of a bigger dream. I want Totally Nachrageous to reach people everywhere and remind them that happiness, creativity, and community can start with something as simple as a tray of nachos, and that there’s room at the table for everyone.”

Taylor is currently planning book-related events, media appearances, restaurant collaborations, a national college nacho tour, and other nacho-themed activations leading up to and following the August 25 release.

Arriving just ahead of football season, the holiday entertaining season, and National Nachos Day on November 6, Totally Nachrageous is positioned as a playful, crowd-pleasing cookbook for anyone looking to bring more fun to the table.
