Guide to Kids Cooking Camps & Classes (2026 Edition)

Carly Terzigni

It may be hard to believe, but we’re weeks away from spring, which means warmer weather is right around the corner. That also means it’s time to start planning your summer camp schedule, and if you have budding home chefs in the family, a cooking camp may be the perfect option! In addition, we have provided a list of businesses across the state that are offering kids' cooking classes this spring. These classes and camps range from one-day classes to week-long (sometimes longer!) camps for kids of all ages. You’ll find several private chef-led cooking parties here as well.

Some of the following classes are offered as early as this month, with others not kicking off until later this summer, but, as with any summer camp, slots fill up quickly! Don’t delay in signing your kids up for the following programs.

Food Explorers-Various Locations

www.myogrcc.org

Food Explorers empowers children through hands-on cooking classes featuring uniquely designed recipes and a food-neutral approach. Their classes help children build kitchen skills, explore new flavors, and develop a positive, confident relationship with food. Children leave their classes with more than just recipes — they leave with new skills, independence, and pride in what they’ve created! This summer, find themes such as Global Cuisines, Pastry Shop, From Scratch, and Chocolate Week! You can find Food Explorers camps in towns all over CT, including Fairfield, Tolland, Coventry, New Canaan, Madison, and Ridgefield. Check out your local Parks and Recreation to find your closest camp!

AMG Catering-Wilton

https://amgcatering.com/

AMG Catering offers many exciting cooking opportunities for kids this spring and summer. They are offering 2 consecutive weeks of the “Young Chef’s Academy” for your young CIT or “Chef in Training.” Each week is a unique, four-day hands-on kids cooking camp where the “CITs” will be exploring American regional cuisines, global cuisines, farm to table, current food trends, street foods, grilling, cooking on the Blackstone, and many other culinary delights each day at camp. Menus are planned according to what’s in season and available, so they will be working with and learning about seasonal, fresh food. They also like to collaborate with our campers on what they want to learn each day. In other words…let the food teach itself! The chefs in training cook and eat all day long!!! There will be no duplicate recipes in weeks 1 and 2, so why not register for both weeks? Note: The kitchens are *not* food allergy-free kitchens. Nuts, shellfish, etc are used frequently. Some of the dishes may contain dairy, seafood, and/or nuts. For ages 12-15. Both weeks are open for registration now. https://amgcatering.com/kids-cooking-camp-2026/
