Celebrate Shelton Announces Food Trucks on the River sponsored post
Celebrate Shelton, a private city-wide initiative in its 11th year is thrilled to announce Food Trucks on the River, and several exciting community collaborations.
Food Trucks on the River, an exciting two-day festival will take place on Friday, May 30th, from 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM, and Saturday, May 31st, from 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM at Veterans Memorial Park in Downtown Shelton. In case of inclement weather, a rain date is set for Sunday, June 1st.
This popular event will feature 25+ food trucks per day, offering a variety of delicious cuisines, alongside our New Belgium Bar serving craft brews, wine, specialty cocktails, and mocktails, sponsored by New Belgium Brewing Company and LoveLou Wines. Attendees can explore a curated selection of handmade artisan vendors, enjoy live music, and partake in family-friendly activities throughout the weekend.

Celebrate Shelton is adding an annual scholarship for the Boys & Girls Club of the Lower Naugatuck Valley for their Scholarship Awards Night, taking place on May 14th. The Celebrate Shelton Community Impact & Opportunity Scholarship is dedicated to supporting individuals who demonstrate a strong commitment to making a positive impact on their community.
In addition, Celebrate Shelton will be unveiling their community mural on the move, a beautiful mural painted at Celebrate Shelton events which will travel to various locations in the City of Shelton. As a part of Shelton Senior Center’s Volunteer Appreciation Day on May 16th, the mural will make its debut and each volunteer will receive a swag bag for the upcoming Food Trucks on the River.
"We have been creating events for these last 11 years, and each year we continue to attract larger attendance and new audiences. We continue to bring the best of Connecticut's food trucks and unique programming together for our events, and it feels good to know we can provide these experiences in the place we call home," said Nicole Heriot-Mikula, Michael Skrtic and Jimmy Tickey of Celebrate Shelton.
This free-to-attend event welcomes all, with a suggested donation of $5 per person to help support future community programming.
Kicking off the weekend, on the Main Stage on Friday, May 30th, Connecticut’s top musical talent will take the spotlight:

On Saturday, May 31st, the Listening Lounge @ New Belgium Bar will showcase: The Bargain, Frank Viele, Laura Clapp, Eddie Seville and Simone Marie.
Families can enjoy a full days of entertainment with programming including:
18-hole Mini Golf free for all attendees
Family Yoga w/ Yellow Yoga
Plus face painting, glitter tattoos, and henna
As an added attraction, Earthship Studios will be offering flash tattoos both days.
The Annual LGBTQ Pride Flag Raising Ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 31st at 2:00 PM at the Derby-Shelton Rotary Pavilion in partnership with the City of Shelton.
