30 Mile Brewing Company of Old Saybrook will be doing a Tap Takeover at The Essex/Los Charros Cantina during their Trivia Night on March 5 from 5-8pm to raise awareness for the 2nd Annual Cheers for Charity.  Come enjoy a night of trivia and craft beer.

Stew Leonards Newington hosts a Nutty for Nutella culinary class for kids on Tuesday March 5.  Kids ages 2-5 will create Nutella fudge, Nutella marshmallow grilled sandwiches, and Nutella truffles. 

Tim’s Kitchen at Wakeman Town Farm is teaching toddlers ages 2-4 how to be mini sous chefs.  Kids and caregivers can attend a series of classes that kicks off on March 6 and continues on Wednesday through March 27.  It costs $250. 

On Wednesday March 6 learn how to make 30-Minute Healthy Comfort Food Meals with AMG Catering.  Work with Skirt steak, Chicken thighs and shrimp.  It runs from 7-9pm and costs $90 per person. 

Bin 100 in Milford hosts “Bring Your Own Bottle: Share a Wine from Your Collection” on March 6.  Participants bring any bottle of red or white wine with at least 10 years of age.  The event is limited to 20 people so everyone will have the opportunity to try 20 different library wines.

On Thursday March 7, Walrus + Carpenter is hosting a crash course in bourbon with their friends at Rabbit Hole. This will be the first in a monthly series where you can hang, eat, taste, and learn about spirits and their cocktail applications. Call to reserve your spot.  203-333-2733.

Ambler Farm offers a Youth Apprentice Program from May-October for students currently in grades 5-11.  Apprentices meet several times a week to plant, maintain and harvest the farm’s educational gardens and work with Farmer Jonathan in the production gardens. They also care for our rabbits, pigs, goats, sheep and chickens. Learn more at their open house on March 6 at 3pm. 

On Saturday March 9, The Essex Community Fund presents the 2nd Annual Cheers for Charity Beerfest. Local and unique craft breweries, homebrewers, cider companies, and vineyards will be on tap for tastings INSIDE the Oliver Jensen Gallery and River Valley Junction Hall at the Essex Steam Train.

The Spay it Forward program was begun by Homeward Bound Adoptions CT Inc. to help Connecticut shelter dogs by covering the cost of their spay and neuter surgeries, which helps them get adopted.  On Sunday March 10, they are hosting their 4th Annual Spay it Forward CT event, which will take place at the Blue Hound Tap Room.  Tickets are $25 per person and include one drink and hot appetizers. Check out one of our signature cocktails specially created with Tito’s Handmade Vodka, one of our kind donors. There will also be a cash bar and silent auction. 

Have you ever wanted to make your own wine?  Maltose Express in Monroe invites you to their annual Spring and Chilean Winemaker's Open House on March 9.  They will be taking orders for Chilean wine grapes and juice, as well as sampling homemade wines.
