Savannah Bee Company invites you to a pre- Rosh HaShanah honey tasting on Wednesday September 5 at their store in downtown Westport.  Liz from Kosher Like Me will walk you through the selections.

On Wednesday September 5, The Fig Cooking School in Milford presents a cooking class in honor of International Bacon Day.  The menu includes Pancetta Crispswith Goat Cheese and Roasted Tomatoes; Bacon-Arugula Quiche Kale Salad with Bacon, Pumpkin Seeds, Heirloom Tomatoes and Goat Cheese Dressing; and Jack Daniel's Chocolate Pudding with Bacon Crumbles. 

Visit them again on September 9 for a French Bistro Dinner class with Steak au Poivre with Cognac Crème, Roasted Tomatoes with Stilton, and Haricots Verts with Caramelized Shallots. 

Tickets are on sale for the 201 Kitchen Crawl Culinary Fundraiser.  Purchase a $85 ticket and proceed to 4 different Westport houses, where chefs from The SpreadMecha Noodle BarMatch Burger Lobster, and Jesup Hall will be cooking just for you.  All proceeds benefit Food Rescue US.   

Gabriele’s of Greenwich has announced that Dana Cifone has joined the organization as the Director of Events and Marketing. Well-known for her outstanding work as a restaurateur, she brings more than a decade of experience in the hospitality and events industry within Greenwich and the greater New York area.

The 76th Annual North Haven Fair takes place on September 6-9.  Each year exhibitors at the North Haven Fair display some of the finest baking, hobbies, photography, and farm animals in the state.  There will be food trucks, kettle corn, baked goods, shakes, roast beef, and more. 

It’s a "three B" cruise on the Conecticut River: Beer, Bratwurst, and Beautiful fall foliage.  On Thursday September 6, ride The Essex Steam Train to the Becky Thatcher riverboat for a 2-hour cruise.   Enjoy tastings of several carefully selected craft beers & a buffet of brats with all the fixin’s.  Take home a glass as a momento.

Tickets are on sale for the 11th annual Chowdafest event on Sept 30, 2018 at Sherwood Island State Park in Westport!  The event, named a "must attend" event in New England by Yankee Magazine,features up to 40 award winning restaurants competing in five different categories.  Tickets are $20 for adults and $5 for kids ages 6-12. 

Barcelona Waypointe welcomes a new Exeutive Chef, Kaline Kapps.  She began as a line cook with the Greenwich team in 2015 and quickly climbed the ranks to assume the role of  sous chef. Now helms the kitchen!

The 2018 Norwalk Oyster Festival hosted by the Seaport Association will take place Friday September 7 through Sunday September 9 at Veterans Memorial Park in Norwalk.  The festival offers a wide array of attractions the whole family will enjoy, including continuous entertainment by local musicians and national acts.  After exploring the fairgrounds, head to the International Food Court and the craft beer tent.  Tickets can be purchased online at  

DORO Restaurant Group farm dinners continue on September 7.  This week, visit Sub Edge Farm to a fresh meal prepared by chefs from Treva Restaurant and Bar.   Tickets are $99 per person and the event lasts from 6-9pm.   

“Party Like Winter is Coming” at Basso Café on Friday September 7 starting at 8pm.  DJ Marcos Silva will be spinning and there will phenomenal food and craft drinks to go along with the music. 

On Sunday September  9 from 3-7pm, The Hops Company in Derby hosts a Summer Block Party Fundraiser.  Admission is free with food and drink available for purchase.  $1.00 of every NEBCO beer sold will be donated to Smilow Cancer Hospital through Closer to Free Ride.  Also available at the event will be a BBQ/Lobster bake provided by Clambakes and Catering of Connecticut.  (To partake in the BBQ/Lobster bake, you must purchase tickets ahead of time.) 

Plan B West Hartford is now open!  After making repairs to the building, they are officially ready for business once more.
