The Stack, featuring Bear’s Smokehouse BBQ in New Haven, has kicked off its new Happy Hour specials.  The deal are offered Monday-Friday from 3p-6pm and two rotating $7 draft cocktails, $4 Pork on a Stick, $5 Fried Pickles, deals on 1L steins, and more.

On December 8, The Beer Collective and the Yale Peabody Museum are teaming up for “Bones & Cheer: Ice Age Edition.”  The evening will feature food from Olmo and a selection of local brews and cider.  There will also be Frozen Science Experiences, Glacier Games, After-hours Museum Access, Music, prizes, and more.  Tickets start at $25.  This is a 21+ event. 

On Tuesday December 4 at 9:30am and Saturday December 8 at 10am, Stew Leonard’s in Newington hosts a “Gingerbread Fun Culinary Class for Toddlers.”  Kids ages 2-5 will make gingerbread cookies, gingerbread muffins, and a gingerbread cheesecake dip.  Tickets are $20 and advanced registration is required. 

Wednesday nights are Lobster Nights at Kensington’s at the Spa at Norwich Inn.  The Dinner Special includes a lobster Dinner for two with a bottle of their Vista Point wine.  The meal includes 2 1.25 lb. lobsters, tarragon Whipped Potatoes, and roasted Butternut Squash.  It is $59.99 plus tax and gratuity.

On Wednesday December 5, Tre Scalini in New Haven invites you to a “A Sparkling Holiday Celebration.”  The evening will celebrate sparkling wines with pairings alongside 4 courses. It is $87 per person, plus tax and tip.

From now until December 31, a portion of proceeds from every Narragansett Lager purchased at any b Restaurant in Connecticut will be given to Foodshare, the Feeding America food bank serving Connecticut’s Hartford and Tolland counties, where 121,000 people struggle with hunger.

UNION KITCHEN, so named to honor the union of the two families backing the endeavor opens Dec 7th in West Hartford. The classic American menu will be studded with dishes like: the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich, a Pork Belly BLT, Meatloaf (stuffed with braised short rib), Pork Sunday Sauce & Sticky Toffee Bread Pudding.

The Hops Company will host its 3rd annual “Road Home for the Holidays” charitable event on Friday, November 30, 2018 from 6pm until 9pm.  Partnering with Two Roads Brewery for the third year, the event will be a memorable night filled with fun, food, great beer, games, raffles and contests including ugly holiday sweater contest to benefit military service men and women.  The Hops Company and Two Roads will donate $1 from the sale of each Two Roads pint of beer to the Fisher House Foundation.  The Fisher House Foundation reunites families of injured veterans while they’re in the hospital.  Bobby Wheeler will be playing live music from 9pm until midnight.

On Friday December 7, Chateau Le Gari in Marlborough invites you to a wine dinner featuring a 4 course meal from Brasato. One glass of wine upon arrival is included with the ticket and additional glasses/bottles are avaliable for purchase throughout the dinner.  The menu will feature Butternut Bisque, a Winter Citrus & Beet Salad, Braised Beef Short Rib, and Espresso Cheesecake.  It is $50 per person.  l

On Saturday December 8 from 6:30-8:30pm, Oyster Club in Mystic presents “Koji a la Mexicana” at Stone Acres Farm.  Koji is used to make miso, soy sauce, sake, and more. Mechanical engineer and koji enthusiast Rich Shih joins Chef James Wayman for a dinner exploring the incredible fermentation agent.

Ibiza Tapas in Hamden will have a Holiday Wine Tasting Soiree on Sunday December 9.  The culinary team at Ibiza Tapas will be preparing a bounty of Mediterranean style hors d' oeuvres and plenty of wine will be available to sample during the walk around tasting.  It runs from 2-5pm and tickets are $25.
