Nibble: CT Food Events For Week of May 21-27

Monday May 22 is “mobile Monday” at Vasi’s in Waterbury.  Frankie’s, Hardcore Sweet Cupcakes, La Tavola, Speakeasy Cigars, and The Mobile Pub will all bring their mobile treats on the road from 4-10pm.  There will also be live music and games.

Pearl at Longshore presents a rosé wine dinner on Tuesday May 23. Join them for cocktails at 6:30pm followed by a four course dinner featuring the wines of Chateau d’Esclans (Whispering Angel).  It costs $95 per person, plus tax and gratuity. 

Learn Cheese basics with the Fairfield Greenwich Cheese Company on Tuesday May 23 from 7-9pm.  Enjoy a plate of some of their signature cheeses alongside complementary wines as Laura and Chris guide you through the fundamentals.  It costs $50 per person and takes place at the Greenwich location. 

Chef Plum will lead a Fresh Guacamole & Pico De Gallo Class on Tuesday May 23 in Danbury, CT.  The evening will include light snacks and refreshments, and at the end of the night Chef Plum’s pick for the best guacamole will win a 2 piece cooking set.  Tickets are approximately $22 per person. 

Get tickled pink at Millwrights with a rose wine tasting!  On Wednesday May 24 from 6-7:30pm, try 5 rose wines with 5 different small tapas style dishes.  It costs $53.30 per person, including tax and gratuity.  If you stay for dinner in the tavern or dining room afterward, get 10% off your total bill. 

Stone’s Throw Restaurant in Seymour hosts a “Chef’s Table” dinner on May 24.  Enjoy a five course meal prepared with the freshest ingredients from that day’s market alongside wine pairings.  It costs $65 per person, plus tax and gratuity. 

On Wednesday May 24, AMG Catering presents a “30-Minute Main Meals Class” with a chicken, beef and fish dish with sides that the whole family will enjoy.  It costs $90 per person and runs from 7-9pm. 

Veracious Brewing Company hosts their first ever Beer vs. Wine Dinner on Wednesday May 24 from 6-9pm.  5 courses will be paired with a beer and a wine so that guests can decide which is the ultimate beverage.  It costs $85 plus tax and gratuity. 

Drink for a cause at Roia Restaurant in New Haven on Thursdays from 5-6:30pm.  Each week, 10% of the night’s happy hour proceeds will go toward a local non-profit organization.

Fairfield Craft Ales is taking over the taps at the Blind Rhino for a great cause.  On Thursday May 25, purchase a $10 bracelet to benefit the Michael Ness Golf Tournament and get $1 off all Fairfield Craft Ales pints, food specials, exclusive brewery giveaways and raffle items. 

On Thursday May 25, board the Essex Steam Train for a night of Cigars & Whiskey.  After the train, enjoy a cruise down the river sampling Knob Creek, Wild Turkey Forgiven, and Crown Royal along with an assortment of hand rolled Connecticut cigars from Up In Smoke. 

The Westport Farmers Market is back on!  Visit them on Thursdays from 10am-2pm at 50 Imperial Avenue.

Thursday May 25 is Ladies Night at Sunset Meadow Vineyards.  Gather the girls for a night featuring Thistle and Reed Mobile Shopping, LuLaRoe, a Stella & Dot Trunk Show, Spiritual Readings, and a Hair and Make-up Demo by Haus of Color… plus plenty of wine!  It costs $15 per person for entry, which includes a glass of wine. 

The RBS Food Truck Festival returns to Orange on Friday May 26.  Sponsored by Race Brook School, check out some of the area’s best mobile eats from 4-8pm. 

Master Macaroons at the Chefs Emporium in Orange on May 27 from 10am-12pm.  Learn to make Lemon Macarons with Lemon Buttercream, Chocolate Macarons with Raspberry Buttercream, and Mint Macarons with Chocolate Ganache. 

Bands, Beer, BBQ, & Flea Market comes to Hamden on Saturday May 27 at 2pm.  The Outer Space, Black Hog Brewing Company, Back East Brewing Company, and Bull and Swine BBQ are all teaming up for a beer festival meets flea market. 

The Milford Food Truck & Artisan Festival takes place May 27-28 at Eisenhower Park.  From 11am-5pm, try food from two dozen trucks and shop from over 100 vendors.  Entry for adults is $3 while kids under 12 are free.  https://www.facebook.com/MilfordFoodTruckFestival
