Mecha Noodle Bar, which opened its first restaurant in Fairfield in 2013 and later its second site in South Norwalk in 2015, opens its third location in the heart of downtown New Haven. Located at 201 Crown Street, this 2000-square-foot spot will offer the ultimate comfort food in New Haven appealing to students, residents, business people and families alike with its menu of Asian comfort food options at affordable price points.

For those not already familiar with the menu at Mecha Noodle Bar, the menu features signature dishes such as ramen and pho as well as other flavorful selections such as steamed baos and a well curated selection of Asian plates borrowing from Vietnamese, Korean and Chinese traditions. The menu has been created to soothe, nourish, sustain and inspire – at a modest price. 80% of the core menu in New Haven will be similar to its sister locations with the remainder of the menu debuting new dishes with a Mecha twist. And of course, “Slurping is encouraged” as clearly stated on the menu.

The restaurant will also have a full bar serving bubble tea, craft cocktails, premium sake, wine, and a selection of Asian and local craft beers. New Haven residents will soon find out why people stand in line to dine at Mecha Noodle Bar, but the bar here will certainly make any wait a more pleasurable  and delicious one. The beverage menu will feature a list of fresh ingredient cocktails where each drink tells its own story. “We use ingredients that we are proud of serving and spirits that we enjoy drinking ourselves Shochu, Japanese Whisky, Rhum Agricole and Mezcal, to name a few.” says Jonathan Rodriguez, Beverage Manager for Mecha Noodle Bar. “You’ll see fun tikiinspired drinks as well as a scorpion bowl, too. We’re excited about creating beverages that evoke a special feeling and may even make you feel a little nostalgic.”

The restaurant is a joint venture between longtime friends, Tony Pham and Richard Reyes. Tony and Richard have sent out to create a unique way of enjoying the fresh and savory flavors of Southeast Asia. Grounded in the satisfying familiar of comfort food, Mecha Noodle Bar embodies a sense of innovation, family and community; a reflection of how Pham and Reyes view their roles as restaurateurs. Their philosophy sits right at the heart of every dish they create and pushes them to find better ways in all they do.

Mecha Noodle Bar will be serving lunch and dinner from 11:30am - 10:00pm seven days a week. Happy Hour and a Late Night Market menu will be introduced later this year. For more information, visit mechanoodlebar.com and join the conversation on Facebook and Instagram @eatramen.com.
