Weekly Nibble: "Blues On The Beach," Crawfish Boils, CT Wine Festival + More!

On Tuesday July 21, The Weekend Kitchen in Essex presents “Chill’n and Grill’n with Chef Jenn Magrey.  From 6:30-10pm, learn dishes like grilled Succo-Squash salad, planked captain Cod filets with herb lemon butter sauce, and Greek chicken.  It costs $75 per person.  

On Tuesday nights, bring your own bottle of wine to accompany a Chef’s tasting menu at Morello Italian Bistro in Greenwich.  There will be no corkage fee for guests enjoying the special menu (guests not ordering it will be charged a $25 corkage fee.)

Starting July 23, City Limits Diner is bringing BBQ to Westchester with a special menu including dry-rubbed ribs, sides such as braised greens, and homemade desserts.  The summer specials last until August 6.

Thursday July 23 is Uinta Night at Cask Republic New Haven.  A representative from the brewery will be there while you get to drink their classic beers as well as rarer brews.  There will be giveaways throughout the night as well.  Join them between 6 and 10pm.   

“The Prisoner” is a sought after red wine from Napa, California and on Friday July 24, the company behind it, The Prisoner Wine Co. invites you to Flemings Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar for a five course wine dinner.  Dishes include a gorgonzola soufflé, slow roasted lamb, and more. 6:30pm, $115 per person, plus tax and gratuity.  Call 860-233-1116 to reserve.

The Wadsworth Athenium Museum of Music and Art in Hartford hosts a “Summer Sizzle Series” that includes dinner and a movie on Friday nights in July.  Live music and an à la carte dinner is held in the courtyard at 5pm.  Then, a movie begins at approximately 8:15 pm. 

Are you interested in learning more about organic wines?  Darien Discount will host a tasting of summer wines- many of which are organic.  It will take place from 4-7pm on Friday July 24.

Blues on the Beach arrives in Stratford on Saturday July 25 from 2-9pm.  There will be popular local food trucks, like Taco Loco, as well as music, dancing, and drinks.  The event is free, with food and beverages for purchase.  

The Annual Connecticut Wine Festival comes to Goshen on Saturday July 25 and Sunday July 26.  Try wines from a dozen Connecticut wineries while enjoying live music, foods from local vendors, a grape stomp, and more.  For a full schedule and to purchase tickets, visit:

The South Norwalk location of the Ginger Man is closed for the summer.  They will reopen in September with new renovations and offerings.
