Weekly Nibble: Farmers' Markets, BYOB, Fleishers Delivers, CT Breweries + More

On Tuesday nights, bring your own bottle of wine to accompany a Chef’s tasting menu at Morello Italian Bistro in Greenwich.  There will be no corkage fee for guests enjoying the special menu (guests not ordering it will be charged a $25 corkage fee.)

The Darien Farmers Market kicks off its 2015 season on Wednesday May 27 at the Goodwives Shopping Center located at 25 Old Kings Highway North in Darien, CT.  It will be open every Wednesday through Christmas from 11:00am to 4:00pm, rain or shine.

On Wednesday, May 27, the Madison Beach Hotel invites you to a 5-course gourmet dinner featuring Madison's own Mad Hill Peppers.  Each course will also be paired with pepper-infused cocktails.  It lasts from 6:30-9:30pm and costs $89 per person.   

Also on Wednesday, Harry’s in Fairfield presents a Kermit Lynch Wine Class from 7-9pm.  Attracted by the Old World wine cultures of Europe, Kermit became a retailer, distributor, and national importer for authentic wines that express their terroir. It costs $35 for one session.  

On Thursdays pm, from 10am-2 the Westport Farmers’ Market continues its 2015 summer season. 

Outer Light Brewing Company of Groton, CT will make its grand debut on Saturday May 30!  The fun starts at noon with a ribbon cutting with the Mayor, local, and state officials.  After that, enjoy flowing taps and more.

The First Annual Cask Event will take place at Craft 260 in Fairfield on Sunday May 31!  Craft 260 & Renzo Kian- Kubota have partnered up to kick off the summer with beer from 18 CT breweries.  The event will benefit “Tap Cancer Out,” a nonprofit charity from Stratford.  Tickets are extremely limited.  They are available starting Monday March 23 and can be purchased cash only at Craft 260 or by seeing Renzo at Harry's Wine & Liquor Shop at 2094 Post Rd, Fairfield.  

“SoNo Eats” (formerly SoNo Restaurant Week) is a six-day promotion that features the unique and fine dining options available in South Norwalk with Special Prix-Fixe Dining Deals May 31 – June 5. The Outrun Branford Half Marathon will take place on Sunday May 31.  Cross the finish line at the brand new Stony Creek Brewery.   

Details for "Fork it Over" are shrouded in mystery, but we can tell you the following: The Westport Farmers' Market will host 4 fundraising events featuring seasonal ingredients. Each of these dinners will be hosted at locations to be announced the day of each dinner, and the chefs (or chefs) will be a complete surprise.
