Raising Backyard Chickens Seminar @ Cannon Grange Hall in Wilton

CTbites Team

Raising backyard chickens has become increasingly popular with the expanded awareness of the importance of locally and sustainably grown and produced food. Experienced chicken keeper Bil Mikulewicz will demystify the project in his talk “Backyard Chickens or One Man's Journey With A Bunch Of Dumb Clucks” on Thursday, February 5, 7pm at the Cannon Grange Hall, 25 Cannon Road, Wilton, Conn.

Bil will share his knowledge about keeping hens, providing insights on raising these fascinating and occasionally frustrating creatures and guidance on selecting breeds and ordering, housing and feeding as well as spending dos and don’ts. He will also relate bits of history and humor about chickens, including the story of Captain Kangaroo and the Chinese Dancing Chicken.

Admission is free. Parking is available in the Grange lot and across the street at the Cannondale Railroad Station and Village. This program is sponsored by the Cannon Grange No. 152, Wilton, Conn. and The Discovery Center at Ridgefield, Conn.
