Festivities: Guest Chef @ Westport Farmers' Mkt June 21

Let the festivities begin! This Thursday, June 21st at The Westport Farmers’ Market, Bill Kaliff Executive Chef and Co-owner of Festivities will be providing hungry shoppers with a taste of one of Fairfield County’s premier catering companies.  

Chef Kaliff will begin the first of his two demos at 11 am, with a Faro Ancient Grain Pilaf served with fresh sautéed vegetables and arugula sourced from Ambler Farm.  His second dish of the morning, Tabouli with Hearts of Romaine, will be served with his infamous Legacy Olive Oil (which tastes just a little bit like heaven). At 1 pm Chef Kaliff will again show how fun and simple entertaining can be in his second demonstration of the day. Kaliff will be offering a pulled chicken sandwich, served in baby pitas mixed with yogurt, cucumber sauce, and his signature “Magic Sauce” which is known to draw a sizable crowd on its own and is now a staple in my kitchen. This cool summer dish is healthy and easy to assemble for a summer BBQ or picnic!   And what is a proper BBQ without some hors d’oeuvres? Kaliff will wrap up his visit to the Market with an easy favorite; a tomato jam, goat cheese and olivada spread served on a baguette from SoNo Bakery. If your mouth isn’t watering yet, wait till you taste it!

Chef Kaliff wants to show families that entertaining can be carefree, easy, AND delicious! Festivities is a full service event planning and catering company with dinner delivery service available. Kaliff and the rest of the Festivities team believe in using the freshest ingredients possible as inspiration for their countless creative dishes.  They have recently launched their Party Express Line, providing freshly made party food at your fingertips.  With ingredients sourced from local farms, they offer a diverse menu of pre-packed snacks and meals to go with weekly vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options available.  At the moment you can find Festivities at The Wilton Farmers’ Market, Wednesday’s from 2-6.  After this Thursday I can promise you’ll want to stop by and pick up your own jar of “Magic Sauce”, try their ever-changing flavored popcorn, or pick up a Bento box for dinner to go (as I did last week).
