Join Chef Elizabeth Falkner @ Napa & Co.'s Pizza Party CTbites Team June 05, 2014 Come to Napa & Co. and join Chef Adam Truelove and Owner Mary Schaffer as they welcome celebrity Chef Elizabeth Falkner on Friday June 27th for "THE FRIDAY NIGHT PIZZA PARTY" from 6 to 9pm. Chef Falkner is a multiple award winning chef, a James Beard Foundation Award nominee and a lover of culinary competition. Many will remember her incredible skills on Food Network's "Next Iron Chef, Redemption," "Food Network's Challenge," "Iron Chef America" and her outstanding performance in the finals of "Next Iron Chef, Super Chefs," as well as a contestant on Bravo's "Top Chef Masters." A lover of pastas and pizzas, she recently entered and won an international Pizza Competition in Naples, Italy. She will showcase her creative genius with the wood burning oven, transforming one of Connecticut’s most beloved dishes, the pizza, into a culinary work of art. Among her other extraordinary culinary talents, Chef Falkner is a certified Professional Pizzaiola. She discussed her participation in the event with CTbites. “I’ve enjoyed a long relationship with Valley of the Moon winery and I thought it would be fun to pair these California wines with pizza,” and the combinations she is considering sound delicious. On tap is a ”Finnochio Flower Power,” which will feature fennel, aged Provolone cheese, Pecorino and finished with fennel pollen. Another is a “Smokey Bro”…but you will need to attend the event to enjoy this combination of smoky-spicy. Schaffer will pair each pizza with one of the stellar Sonoma wines of Valley of the Moon, or guests can pair different wines with each of the pizzas. In addition, Napa’s Chef Adam will partner with Chef Falkner to showcase Napa’s new summer party cocktail menu. This will be a Family Style Cocktail Event with plenty of wine, pizza and other delightful edibles to fill your tummies!
