Located at 1020 Broad Street, Barnum Publick House is a rare gem in downtown Bridgeport with loads of natural light from the tall windows which wrap around its corner location and add to an already attractive atmosphere. Once dug in, I encountered knowledgeable bartenders (I liked the Park City Sidecar), and a compelling menu - as in: you try the food and you're compelled to return. I particularly liked the Stonginton scallops, head-on coconut shrimp, and adult grilled cheese served with tomato soup, but the Niman Ranch pastrami sandwich was the star at my table.
