Meet Michel Nischan @ The Westport Farmer's Market

Don't miss your opportunity to meet The Dressing Room's Michel Nischan who will be appearing at the Westport Farmer's Market this Thursday, July 1st from 10-2.

Chef Nischan is an inspirational food advocate and author of a new cookbook "Sustainably Delicious: Making the World a Better Place, One Recipe at a Time." He will be interviewed by NBC during market hours discussing his new book and his work at the Wholesome Wave Foundation whose mission "is to nourish neighborhoods by supporting increased production and access to healthy, fresh, and affordable locally grown food for the well-being of all."

Come out and shop the market for a fantastic array of local produce and come hear what Chef Nischan has to say about his important work in our community.

He's a fabulous chef that I had the honor of meeting over the weekend. And in a world where 'sustainability' has become an increasingly-used buzzword, it's good to see someone like Chef Michel actually keep a restaurant up to the full standards of what sustainabilty can do for the community. Kudos!

Yes MS...Westport is one community who definitely has the market cornered on sustainability with Dressing Room and LeFarm. Kudos to Chef Michael and Chef Taibe for being pioneers in this all-important culinary movement. Hopefully more communities like Norwalk and especially Stamford can get some restaurants to follow suit.

I respect Nischan and his work as founder of the Wholesome Wave Foundation (bringing fresh food to inner cities) and the Dressing Room is obviously more sustainable than most restaurants....

my only complaint though is that they have Louisiana gulf shrimp on their menu...not quite local or sustainable. why go thru all this trouble and serve this dish??
