The need to eat strikes in many different forms. Craving something healthy? At The Westport Farmers’ Market, you can grab some freshly grown produce to satisfy that yearning. Want something refreshing? Stop by the handmade popsicle stand to cool down. How about something sweet? Head to the various artisan bakers selling freshly baked pastries and bread.

After a brief intermission from the end of their winter season back in March, the Westport Farmers Market has reopened to serve the community fresh produce, baked goods and everything in between. Open Thursdays from 10-2 on Imperial Avenue in Westport, the market is something you will not want to miss.

With over 50 vendors determined to provide market-goers with healthy and fresh products, Westport residents can look forward to grabbing organic, local ingredients to prepare a healthy meal, or even a pre-made breakfast or lunch… after visiting all the other vendors…of course.

Visit the Westport Farmers Market to enjoy goods from any of their over 50 vendors or check out a few of our favorites below! Check out the complete vendor list here.

The smell of freshly baked bread will lure you over to the friendly workers at the Wave Hill Bread station. Looking for the perfect bread for your morning avocado toast? They have plenty of options to choose from ranging from a classic multi-grain to a caramelized garlic loaf. Their most popular pastry sold at the farmers market is the monkey bread and their best selling bread is the focaccia. Wave Hill Breads uses the best artisan flour for their bread which is freshly made daily.

In the mood for something a little more substantial? Lucky for you, the Parlor pizza truck serves freshly baked and hand-tossed pizza to quiet your grumbling stomach. In the mood for something classic? You can’t go wrong with their Margherita pie. Want to spice it up? Choose from one of their pies with sausage or chili, or for a healthier option, order the fan-favorite kale pizza to get your greens in. Their menu items change seasonally with the ingredients so there is always something new to try. Parlor pizza loves providing cheesy treats to their community at their restaurant locations in Wilton and Darien, but they especially adore coming to the market every Thursday to connect with the community.

“We love coming to the market because it’s a bunch of local businesses supporting each other and that is what we are all about,” Emma, the bar manager at Parlor, said. “Although last week was our first week at the market, we love it.”

Bees Knees Ice Pops prides itself on selling tasty popsicles without artificial ingredients or refined sugars. The popsicles are also allergy and diet-friendly, as they are made without the use of peanuts, soy, dairy or gluten. Calf and Clover creamery sells their fresh dairy products and eggs at the Westport Farmers Market. Fresh from their farm, they offer customers various flavors of yogurts, kinds of milk and scented soaps, as well as creamy ricotta and eggs. After working at the farm to provide Westport residents fresh foods, Andrew, the man in charge of growing some of the vegetables and selling dairy products at the Westport Farmers Market, enjoys coming on Thursdays to see some of his hard work pay off.

“I enjoy the break from the hard work of farming,” Andrew said.  “I love talking to the customers and having some time outside[...] The customers here at the market seem to love the plain yogurt.”

Hungry for more? The Westport Farmers Market has over 50 vendors that rotate weekly and will be open through the whole summer until November. The farmers market is the perfect outside activity to pick up fresh food, have a good time, and enjoy the summer weather.
