Guide to Kids Cooking Camps & Classes 2023

April Guilbault

There are so many kids camps and classes to choose from these days, why not choose one that starts with the basics: our food. Classes at these following establishments range from the basics of utensil skills to cooking up favorite foods and learning about nutrition and where our food is grown. That’s a whole lot of inspired learning about something that is both important and delicious and can be carried with a person long past a single summer. Bon appetit, foodies-in-training!

AMG Catering-Wilton

www.amgcatering.com

This summer, AMG is offering 2 consecutive weeks of the “Young Chef’s Academy” for your young CIT, “Chef in Training.” Each week is a unique, four-day hands-on kids cooking camp where the “CITs” will be exploring American regional cuisines, global cuisines, farm to table, current food trends, street foods, grilling and many other culinary delights each day at camp. Menus are planned according to what’s in season and available, so they will be working with and learning about seasonal, fresh food. They also like to collaborate with our campers on what they want to learn each day. In other words…let the food teach itself! There will be no duplicate recipes weeks 1 and 2, so why not register for both weeks? Note: The kitchens are *not* food allergy free kitchens. Nuts, shellfish, etc are used frequently. Some of the dishes may contain dairy, seafood and/or nuts. For ages 12-15. Camps are limited to 14 campers so claim your spot soon.  Week 1 is already Sold Out!
