Organic Krush, with locations across Long Island, the Hamptons and Virginia, has just opened in Westport at 374 Post Road E. Organic Krush is a fast casual restaurant featuring healthy, organic menu, but cooked, juiced, and baked with a lot more love than your might expect from the average grab-n-go spot. The entire menu features ingredients that are 100% certified organic and free of GMOs, hormones, pesticides and really…fake anything. Diners seeking gluten-free, vegan or paleo options will be happy to discover that most of Organic Krush’s extensive menu works for them, and they can accommodate most dietary needs or restrictions. Organic Krush’s motto is “Eat Happy, Spread Love,” and although this is the seventh location for Co-Founders Michelle Walrath & Fran Paniccia, when I walked in just a few days before they opened their doors, the love and attention to every detail was clearly visible. From employee training and safety protocols to the consistency of the dishes coming out of the kitchen, Organic Krush made a strong debut. Open for three meals a day, from breakfast through dinner pick up at 8PM, I have a strong hunch that this will be a go-to spot for many in the Westport area who aren’t feeling like cooking but are seeking a healthy and tasty meal for their family.

Organic Krush will feature the same health-conscious menu offered at other locations. Guests can find fresh cold-pressed immune-boosting juices, wellness shots, creative smoothies, acai bowls, breakfast all day, fan-favorite Krush Classics and nutrient rich krush-your-own bowls. All of the dishes can be personalized and curated so that there’s truly something for everyone...even the pickiest of eaters.

In the classic fast casual repertoire, guests can select a base and then customize their add-ins or select from some handcrafted chef’s specialties. We sampled a few of Organic Krush’s signature dishes and pressed juices, and left feeling both healthy and nourished. My personal favorite was the THAI TOFU bowl with citrus marinated tofu, carrots, red pepper, broccoli, scallions, thai dressing, which had great Asian flavors and zero grease-factor.

We also enjoyed the FISH TACOS with Pan-roasted salmon, cabbage slaw, avocado, pico de gallo, scallion, and chipotle lime crema. These featured a solid serving of fish, and the simplicity and clean flavors make this very approachable, even for the kiddos.

The STEAK BONE BROTH BOWL is another popular entrée as the meat is cooked in their own homemade bone broth (also for sale). It is made with Grass-fed steak, mushrooms, sugar snap peas, spinach, radish, sprouts, carrots, soba noodles, and tamari.

We appreciated the fact that all of their Acai bowls and smoothies are made without any added sugar, and their gourmet-to-go meals, cleanses, catering and organic beer and wine, making it a go-to spot for a quick and easy breakfast, lunch or dinner. Their cold pressed juices are all made in their commissary and have very well balanced flavor profiles (nothing too green or “gross”). Also, the wide array of gluten-free baked goods made my daughter who follows a GF diet, muy happy.

The space is clean, bright, and very aesthetically pleasing. They even have private work pods, where guests can set up in their own booth-like space, enjoying free WIFI and snacks while they work, for unlimited time. Homework hours will also be available for school-aged children, and they’ve added a 10% discount for teachers through the end of the school year. The restaurant will be eco and ocean-friendly, meaning they will follow sustainable practices like the use of reusable food ware, compostable packaging, glass to-go bottles rather than plastic, no Styrofoam or plastic used anywhere, and more.

To celebrate the launch Organic Krush has partnered with Pink Aid and will be donating 10% of sales directly to the foundation for the month of November, helping to raise money to fight breast cancer.
