Robert Zeoli
Quick Facts: Born and raised in Westport...shortly after college in 2005 I fulfilled a dream of studying Italian cuisine in the hills of coastal Le Marche, and then went on to do two stages in Michelin rated restaurants in Central and Southern Italy. Now I live in Stratford with my wife Nicole, where I love to cook for friends and family (until I master some niche food product I can delight the public with) and eat/drink my way through life, in moderation of course.
My current food cravings are: Splash’s Crackling Calamari Salad, fried calzones and ricotta cheesecake
The only fast food I will eat is: A Whopper with lots of pickles and mayo
If I could be any Iron Chef, I would be: Mr. Red Beard n Crocs even though he’s vacated his spot in the Chairman’s lineup I think
My favorite restaurant in Fairfield County is: Bonda
My favorite restaurant in the Tri-State area is: Sally’s in New Haven…it’s all about the food
Restaurant dish I wish I could make at home: Chocopologie’s Chocolate Truffle Beignets
My go-to dinner party entrée is: Something with homemade pasta
When I’m not eating, I’m…. Brainstorming food businesses of my own or imagining myself as manager of a soccer club in Italy with a vineyard on the side
Prepared food I have let people think was home-made… Clam and beef knuckle soup…should have been a dead giveaway though without the capers
I’d rather pick (pumpkins, apples, strawberries)... I proposed to my wife at an apple orchard, and they never taste as good as when I’m gorging while I pick, so…Mutsus all the way!
The last book I enjoyed was: Unbroken
My favorite movie of all time is: The Godfather by a hair over the sequel
My favorite food related movie of all time is: Big Night
