What's the 411 on CT Bites?

CT Bites is a web-based community built by and for people who love food and live in that special corner of Connecticut known as Fairfield County.

The people behind this site are probably a lot like you.

We love to eat, almost as much as we love our families and careers.

Like you, we’ve chosen to live in an area that offers the best of everything; the experience of living in a beautiful setting while staying close to the cultural capital of the world, NYC.

Sure we can and do head into the city for great, world class dining experiences.

But we’re also always on the lookout for opportunities to maximize the eating experience right here in our own backyard.

Naturally that includes finding and trying every out of the way restaurant, café, diner and dive within 30 miles.

But it also means visiting every bakery, farmer’s market, fishmonger, and fruit stand, to better appreciate and understand the unique ingredients the region has to offer the home chef.

And to help get more out of these fresh, local ingredients, we also talk to writers, testers, bakers, and chefs from our neighborhood that are experts in putting them to the best use.

It’s our plan to bring together professionals, enthusiasts and suppliers to fuel a more vibrant local food scene, enabled through blogs, discussion boards, videos and podcasts. And of course we’ll also use email and twitter to let you know when we’ve got a great find we can’t wait to share.
