Kerry Barlas

Quick Facts: 10+ years working for magazines in advertising sales and marketing; Volunteer and charity projects interspersed and a recent attempt at a part-time job; Lives in Westport with her husband and 2 kids.

My fast food weakness is: McDonald's cheeseburgers with pickles and onions.

If I could be any Iron Chef, I would be: Masaharu Marimoto

My favorite restaurant in Fairfield County is: Elm Street Oysterhouse (Greenwich), Osianna (Fairfield), Ching's Table (New Canaan) and Luc's (Ridgefield). Sorry, I can't pick just one.

My favorite restaurant in the Tri-State area is: The Stanton Social on the Lower East Side

Restaurant dish I wish I could make at home: The crispy artichoke salad at Bistro 55 Degrees (Fairfield) and the crispy spinach at Splash (Westport) (yes, I dig crispy!)

My go-to dinner party entrée is: Fish tacos or pulled pork.

When I’m not eating, I’m…reading, working out, playing tennis, hanging with my kids, deciding on upcoming meals, trying to figure out how I can do something to "give back."

Prepared food I have let people think was home-made…Honestly, have NEVER done this. I am not afraid of admitting when I haven't made something!

I’d rather pick (pumpkins, apples, or strawberries): Apples. Because it's a fun tradition we've been doing since my oldest son (6) was a baby. Love the crisp fall air, the drive to the orchard, the other goodies you get to eat at the orchard!

The last book I enjoyed was: I confess (not ashamedly) that I'm hooked on the Twilight series and have just finished #2 (New Moon) and am into #3 (Eclipse).

My favorite movie of all time is: Impossible question for someone who loves loves loves to escape into movies. So many have touched me and moved me to tears and hysterics.
