JoAnn LoGiurato

JoAnn LoGiurato… growing up in an Italian American family in NYC, Jo has always had a passion for food and wine. She loves teaching people, especially women, about wines and how they compliment food.  In 2004, this enthusiasm prompted her to start her business, Dancing on Grapes.  As much as she loves wine and food, her number one love is her family; her husband, two sons and their dog Mac.  She lives in Wilton, CT, where it is finally legal to sell wine!!

My current food and wine cravings are: Albariño and shrimp in garlic sauce

The only fast food I will eat with wine is: Pizza

If I could be any Sommelier, I would be: Andrea Immer Robinson (author of great wine books and one of 10 women in the world to hold the title of Master Sommelier.

My favorite restaurant with a great wine list in Fairfield County is: Barcelona

My favorite restaurant with a great wine list in the Tri-State area is: Convivio, Esca, Veritas, Otto, Tabla--there are so many I love!

Restaurant food and wine pairing I wish I could make at home: Anything on the tasting menu at Veritas!

My go-to dinner party wine and food pairing is: Grilled Wild Salmon and Domaine Serene Pinot Noir or Grilled Lobster and Bastianich Friulano or Grilled Flank Steak and Susana Balbo Malbec.  Yum! Can you tell it’s grilling season?

When I’m not drinking wine, I’m…. reading about wine, talking about wine, travelling to wine regions  or cooking with wine!!

Prepared food I have let people think was home-made and paired with a great wine…Trader Joe’s Alsatian Tart and Trimbach Pinot Gris—I did fess up— I love sharing great food finds, especially if they are from TJ’s—love that store!

I’d rather pick (pumpkins, apples, strawberries)—grapes! Preferably in Italy!

The last wine book I enjoyed was: Billionaires Vinegar

My favorite movie of all time is: Sideways

My favorite wine related movie of all time is: Sideways!!!! There is a theme going on here…
