From The Fairfield Green Food Guide

James Gribbon

My current food cravings are: anything Mexican, Thai or otherwise likely to include unhealthy amounts of capsaicin.

The only fast food I will eat is: the one I’m craving at the time. Most likely Chik Fil-A as a commercial is taunting me with its unavailability.

If I could be any Iron Chef, I would be: Tony Bourdain. The man has skill, wit, experience, and one of the best jobs this side of being a factory test driver for Ferrari.

My favorite restaurant in Fairfield County is: Brasitas in Stamford.

My favorite restaurant in the Tri-State area is: Modern Apizza in New Haven, for reasons both pizza and personal.

Restaurant dish I wish I could make at home: any of the charcuterie made by Mario Batali’s family at Salumi.

My go-to dinner party entrée is: grilled New York strip steak (summer) and pasta with my own marinara sauce and a side of pork sausage (winter).

When I’m not eating, I’m... searching out new beers, taking in the outdoors, and trying to spend as much time as possible in the company of sports cars.

Prepared food I have let people think was home made: probably cookies or date nut bars. I’m not much for baking.

The last book I enjoyed was: A Short History of Nearly Everything, by Bill Bryson.

My favorite movie of all time is: The Last Emperor.

My favorite food related movie of all time is: 28 Days Later.
