Sneak Peek - Washington Prime in Georgetown Opens Tonight

CTbites Team

For fans of Washington Prime who live in the Danbury area, good news is here. The second location of the SoNo hot spot opens in the Georgetown neighborhood tonight, serving the same steaks and creative cuisine that fans have enjoyed down route 7 on Washington Street. The brainchild of owners Marco Siguenza, Rob Moss and its newest partner Dave Studwell, Washington Prime Georgetown offers the same delicious cuisine in a relaxed environment.

CTbites was invited to a small, pre-opening preview to see the space, enjoy a few cocktails and sample a couple of the items that will delight the guests. Located at 19 Main Street in Redding, the newest restaurant on the street offers valet parking to immediately relax the guests.

Upon entering, guest will note that the team transferred the wood and organic design from the original location including the heavy focus on woods and greenery. The dimmed wine cellar occupies the center of the restaurant, and guests can choose between the dining area to the right with floor to ceiling windows, or the large and separate “saloon” area to the left. Low wattage Edison bulbs hang from the ceiling to create a romantic ambience and the main dining area sports caricatures of celebrities in bright colors. Overall the décor is similar to SoNo.

The chef prepared a few nibbles for the group while the bartenders mixed drinks, served local beers from six local breweries on tap, and a large selection of wines. The shrimp cerviche was delicious with bright and bold flavors and the meatballs were soft and flavorful. The centerpiece of the menu remains the prime steaks, and Washington Prime still delivers with meat that was perfectly prepared and seasoned and served with several delicious sauces.

Overall, the space is beautiful, the staff looks ready to roll and the food should delight all.

Stay tuned as CTbites returns for a full review in the near future.
