The Beer Collective presents a Brett 101 Class all about Kent Falls Brewery on Tuesday December 13 at 6:00pm.  The evening will include a curated list of Kent Falls beers and a buffet-style offering from their Chefs.  It costs $40 per person and tickets can be purchased online.   

Onyx Moonshine in East Hartford gave empty barrels from their spirits to local Connecticut breweries, who created 15 unique beers aged in the whiskey-soaked wood, which were featured at this summer’s Secret Stash Beer Bash. After the event, it re-filled each barrel with whiskey for aging. Try these 15 beer-influenced whiskies on Tuesday December 13 or Wednesday December 14 from 5:30-8pm.  It costs $35 per person.

Chop Shop Cooking’s December Cooking demonstration classes include wine, water, seltzer and plenty of food.  On Wednesday December 14 from 7-9pm, join them for a Spanish Tapas class or sign up for Thursday December 15 from 7-9pm to learn about fish.  The classes cost $80 per person. 

Go Fish in Mystic is celebrating 50 years of Robert Mondavi wines.  Join them on Wednesday December 14 from 5:30-7pm to enjoy Mondavi wines paired with their tasty dishes.  Please call 860-536-2662 to make a reservation.

Oak Haven Table in New Haven is starting the holiday season with a Rare Bourbon Holiday Tasting.  Attendees can try 1/2 ounce pours of Old Rip Van Winkle 10 Year, Van Winkle Special Reserve 12 Year, Lot B Pappy Van Winkle 15 Year, Pappy Van Winkle 20 Year, Pappy Van Winkle 23 Year, and more!  All participants will receive complementary snacks, appetizers, cigars, and Sazerac swag too.  It costs $125 per person. 

On Friday December 16, The Granola Bar of Greenwich and The Granola Bar of Westport will be open for dinner for families with special needs children.  The night will have a limited number of tables, a more sensory friendly soundtrack, a softer intensity of lights, and a calm judgment-free staff to make sure families can dine and be comfortable.  Reservations are required and can be made by emailing julie@thegranolabarct.com or calling 203-557-8505.

The New Canaan Nature Center presents a Winter Wonderland on Saturday December 17 from 11am-2pm.  There will be festivities like pictures with Santa, a scavenger hunt, chestnuts & marshmallows roasting on an open fire, crafts, holiday stories, the 4th Annual Family Gingerbread House Creation Contest, and more. 

On Saturday December 17, Martha Clara Vineyards invites you to pain and sip.  Paint two wine glasses while sipping some tasty wine.  It costs $40 per person and starts at 1pm. 

Hardcore Sweet Cupcakes in Oakville presents a children’s cooking class on Sunday December 18 at 11am.  Each child will make and decorate 6 cookies… and go home with a chef’s hat and apron so they can continue their baking adventures at home.  It costs $25 per person and is for kids 6 and up. 

Sur La Table in Canton, CT has a number of holiday themed classes this week.  Join them on Thursday December 15 for a Stress-Free Holiday Dinner or Saturday December 17 for Handmade Holiday Cookies, a New Year’s Tapas Party, and a Cookie Decorating Workshop.
