Nibble: CT Food Events for Week of Nov 28 to Dec 4th

On Monday November 28 at 5pm, join MATCH restaurant as they "stock the pantries, the stockings, and your bellies in an "All I Want For ..." dinner event.  The evening features Match mini-plates and awesome drink specials. Bring canned foods for Community Plates and stocking stuffers for Toys for Tots and they will provide you with your first glass of holiday bubbly.

Crush Bar and Wood-fired Pizza in Milford will host a Thimble Island Beer Dinner on Tuesday November 29.  30 people can enjoy a four-course dinner paired with brews from Connecticut’s own Thimble Island.  It costs $55 per person. 

These Guys Brewing in Norwich is also hosting a beer dinner on Tuesday November 29.   They will pair 5 beers from Ommegang Brewery with 4 tasty courses.   It costs $65, which includes tax and gratuity. 

New Canaan Wine Merchants invites you to a Two Roads Beer Tasting with the brewery’s own Jamie Proulx on Wednesday November 30 from 7-8:30pm.  10% of the evening’s sales go to benefit Animals in Distress.

Culinary Works is pleased to offer Festive Holiday Fare Classes.  Join them on Tuesday November 29 at 6:30pm in New Canaan or Thursday December 1 at 6:30pm in Stamford.  The class will feature Smoked Salmon on Potato Chips with Crema and Salmon Roe, Lobster Crostini with Arugula and Saffron Aioli, Pan Seared Duck Breasts with a Blackberry Port Reduction Sauce, and more!  It costs $115 per person. 

This in from Hapa Food Truck...Team HAPA is proud to be participating in the first annual “Cook for Kids” event to benefit the Clothes for Kids Foundation of Fairfield County on December 1.  Clothes to Kids of Fairfield County is a non-profit organization that provides new and gently used clothing to low income and children in crisis situations. 

Renowned chef Bun Lai, inventor of sustainable sushi and a 2016 White House Champions of Change award recipient, will bring samples of his innovative creations to the New Haven Museum during “Sustaining New Haven: An Evening with Bun Lai,” on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 6pm, following the museum’s annual meeting. Admission is free and donations are welcomed.

On Friday December 2, participate in a Local Small Business Multi-Vendor Holiday Shopping Event at the Shelton Community Center Parks and Recreation.  

Don't miss out on the Vegetarian Fall Harvest Dinner at Sugar & Olives benefitting CT NOFA.  It takes place on Saturday December 3 from 7-10 pm at Sugar & Olives in Norwalk with Chef/restaurateur Jennifer Balin.  The elegant vegetarian feast features fall vegetables grown by CT NOFA farmers and cocktails crafted with small batch local spirits and seasonal ingredients.  It costs $100 per person ($700 for a table of 8).  Tickets include an event sourcebook with the menu, recipes, and farm and food sources.

The 8th Annual Greenwich Holiday Stroll Weekend, presented by Whole Foods Market, takes place on  Saturday December 3 from 10am-6pm and Sunday December 4 from 12-5pm.  The weekend festivities include a Nativity, horse drawn carriage rides, professional ice sculpture demos, music, entertainment, children’s activities, live reindeer, and photos with Santa.  Greenwich stores and restaurants are offering special promotions, refreshments, and in-store attractions.  

The PopShop Holiday Market will take place on Sunday, December 4th from 10am-3pm. The Warehouse at the Fairfield Theatre Company will transform into two floors of indoor pop-up shops.  Some of the area’s popular food trucks will be on hand if you get hungry and there will be a full bar.
