Stamford Summer Restaurant Week lasts for TWO weeks this year!  Through August 30, enjoy lunch and dinner prix fixe menus from over 30 popular restaurants.  There are a number of price tiers to choose from.  The prices for lunch are $10.15, $15.15 or $20.15 and dinner is $15.15, $25.15 or $35.15. 

Every Sunday and Monday, bottles of wine under $125 are half price at Match in Norwalk.  Reservations are recommended.

On Wednesday August 26, The Spread in SoNo is lending tremendous support to a local teacher, and for one night, Guest Bartender, who is running in this year’s New York City Marathon as a member of Team Sandy Hook Promise.  Sandy Hook Promise is a grassroots organization committed to providing resources and programs through education and intervention that protect children from gun violence and work to foster connections in the community. All tips received at the bar will go to the SHP charity through the marathoner’s pledged commitment.

Also on Wednesday August 26, enjoy a "Goodtime Barbecue" at the Schoolhouse Restaurant in Wilton.  The menu will be Schoolhouse Farm Dinner meets Traditional BBQ.....Family Style.  The price is $65 per person, excluding alcohol, tax & gratuity.  Please call them at 1-203-834-9816 for reservations.  The patio will be open weather permitting. 

Visit New Haven’s Elm City Market on August 26 at 6:30 for Cheese 101.  Taste an assortment of quality cheeses while learning from an expert.

The Greenwich Wine Society will host a tour of Upstate Connecticut wineries on Thursday August 27.  Visit two wineries for tours and tastings, with a stop at the White Horse Country Pub for lunch.  The cost is $145 (after August 15), which includes tastings, transportation, tours, tax, lunch and tips.  For more information please visit www.GreenwichWineSociety.com. 

Barcelona Restaurant will host a farm dinner at Eddy Farm in Newington, CT on Thursday August 27.  Chef Eric Stagl will prepare summer tapas and family-style entrees from the season’s bounty.  The dishes will be paired with carefully chosen wines and Barcelona’s signature sangria.  It costs $95 per person, inclusive.  The evening starts at 5:30pm. 

Learn to make limoncello and fresh mozzarella at the Wine Press in New Haven.  On Friday August 28 from 7-9pm, participate in the workshop whose proceeds help a worthy cause- The Sunshine Kids Cancer Fund sponsored by Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices.  The cost is $45 per person (33% goes to the charity).  Please bring 1 liter grain alcohol and a peeler. Lemons, limes & a container will be provided for you.  There will even be appetizers, Sangria, and a limoncello cordial.

On Saturday August 29, the Secret Stash Beer Bash comes to East Hartford, CT.  20 CT breweries were was given an ONYX Secret Stash® whiskey barrel to brew their own specialty beer. Stop by to taste and judge the creations.  Tickets start at $40.  

Enjoy an open air market at the Wadsworth Mansion on Sunday August 30 in Middletown, CT.  The festival lasts from 10-4pm and will feature an array of CT vendors and live entertainment.  In addition to other local food vendors, Grand Gourmet will bring their pizza wagon to sell brick oven pizza.

The Fez in Stamford has re-opened after a summer renovation!  They have renovated the space, expanded their beverage program, and added to their menu.  Patrons can look forward to more of The Fez’s vibrant Moroccan / Mediterranean cuisine which features a large selection of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free dishes.  The Fez continues to boast a vibrant live music scene as well.
