Stuart Family Farm: Grass Fed Organic Meat + Home Delivery in CT! (sponsored post)

CTbites Team

With the holiday season fast approaching, Stuart Family Farm can supply your family and friends with some of the highest quality, best tasting, most humanely raised meat products found anywhere.  Located on the Litchfield/Fairfield County border in picturesque Bridgewater, CT, the Stuart Family raises 100% grass fed/finished beef, pastured pork, and pastured poultry.

Stuart Family Farm is an environmentally friendly farm, utilizing organic fertilizer on all pastures and hay fields and is free of all herbicides and pesticides.  The cow herd is pasture rotated throughout the grazing season and is fed hay that is grown exclusively on the farm during the winter months.  The farm became certified Animal Welfare Approved in 2008 and is audited annually to maintain active certification.  AWA is a food label for meat products that come from farm animals raised according to the highest animal welfare and environmental standards.  It is one of only two labels in the U.S that require audited, high welfare slaughter practices, and is the only label that requires pasture access for all animals.  It is considered by industry to be the most difficult certification to obtain.

The beef is 100% grass fed and grass finished. The herd is comprised of Red Angus cattle that thrive on an all grass diet. The Red Angus breed is one of the best breeds for grass fed beef. They score at the top of the chart for both marbling and tenderness, which is key for a great beef eating experience.  All cuts are available individually and include Rib Eye, Strip, Sirloin, Filet Mignon, London Broil, Ground Beef, Short Ribs, Brisket, and Roasts.  The beef is also sold in bulk, if a side of beef or a quarter is desired.

Chickens are sold whole and weigh between 4 and 6 pounds each.  The pastured chickens are a breed called Freedom Rangers.  Their genetic stock derived from the American and European old heritage breed of chicken. They were developed in the early 1960’s to meet the highest standards of the French Label Rouge Free-Range.  These chickens thrive in an outdoor environment and taste just like the “oldies”… healthy, with succulent flavor and texture.

Pastured pork is available in bulk only, as sides or quarters, and is also available year round. This pork is an unbelievable eating experience and repeat buying is close to 100%.  Included in the side or quarter are vacuum sealed pork chops, baby back ribs, pork loin roast, Boston Butt, country style ribs, tenderloin, bacon, hocks, and sausage. All smoking is nitrate-free.

The farm store is open year round on Saturdays between 10 am and 4 pm and Sundays between 12 noon to 4 pm.  We invite you to come out to the farm and spend some time walking around and seeing the cattle, pigs, and chickens.  Calving season begins in May so there is always a chance of witnessing a birth or at least observing some very young calves and new moms interacting.

Home delivery is offered for a 10 pound minimum order and a $20.00 delivery fee.  Orders can be placed directly through the farm’s website, by phone, or email.  For more information or to place an order, please visit www.stuartfamilyfarm.com, call 860-210-0595, or write to Deb and Bill at wstuartjr@aol.com.  Be sure to visit the Stuart Family Farm Facebook page to catch up on photos, announcements, and community involvement.
