Parallel Post hosts “Farm-To-Trumbull” @ Gilberties Herb Garden August 10th

CTbites Team

Dining “al fresco” has always been one of joys of summers in Connecticut.  From the National touring “Outstanding In The Field” which hosts two Sold Out dinners at The Hickories in September, to local restaurants and farms who partner for special “Farm to Table” dinners, choosing an outdoor dining experience this summer should be on everyone’s Summer dining “bucket list”.

Parallel Post in Trumbull, helmed by James Beard nominated Chef, Dean James Max, is proud to announce the third dinner of their 2nd annual, four-part culinary dining series, Farm-To-Trumbull, on Sunday, August 10 from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Held at Gilbertie’s Herb Garden located in Easton, CT, this years dinner limited to just 30 attendees, will once again be inspired by the season, with locally sourced dishes created and led Chef Dean James Max; Executive Chef, Chris Molyneux; and Chef de Cuisine, Ali Goss.

For $75 per person (tax and 18 percent gratuity not included), guests can warm the palate with a welcome cocktail and sampling of small bites, followed by a family-style dinner creatively prepared using the season’s finest local ingredients, special selected wine pairings presented by Parallel Post’s resident mixologist, Greg Genias aka “Bootleg Greg,” and an all-you-can-indulge dessert bar.

The menus for the series - much like Parallel Post’s weekly-changing restaurant menu – focuses on localism and follows the philosophy that natural and sustainable products, and responsible farming, are the key components in ingredient selection.  The menu will be inspired by the farms’ fresh offerings of the day and as such, patrons will be invited to embrace their adventurous side with the Farm-to-Trumbull menu being revealed that day.

Parallel Post believes in strengthening the farming community and proudly engages local purveyors for a majority of its ingredients – seafood from Norm Bloom & Sons in Norwalk, CT. and Foley Fish in Boston, Mass.; meats from Ox Hollow Farm in Roxbury, CT.; organic cheeses, milk and ice cream from The Farmer’s Cow in Lebanon, Conn.; and greens from Gilbertie’s Herb Gardens in Westport, CT.

If you miss this dinner, you do have one last chance before the chill of Fall sets in. The last scheduled date for Parallel Post’s Farm-to-Trumbull 30-person dinner series will conclude on Wednesday, October 8.  Tickets to the Farm-to-Trumbull dinners are available for advance purchase at $75- per person.
