I must say the best burger i have had in CT over the last few months is at The Spread in SONO...I have gone back and had it several times and it is always delicious.
napa & co gets my vote
You must include Match in Sono. Their burger is amazing.
Far and away, Plan B burger
Prime 16, and I've had them all!
Will also give an honorable mention to:
Dive Bar in West Haven (2nd favorite, Cuban burger is a-mazing)
Caseus
LeFarm (a bit expensive, but great flavor)
My favorite burgers are those at Burgers, Shakes and Fries, but Station Eats is pretty tasty as well. And the lamb burger at The Whelk is amazing!
The burgers at The Brickhouse in Stamford are always delicious.
Burgers, Shakes & Fries for sure. Nicholas Roberts also has an amazing burger
The Chelsea burger @ The Chelsea in Fairfield
Hands down the best in the area!
Caseus in New haven has the worlds best burger. Dont believe me? Try it for yourself!
Harlan Social - gooey, cheesy, onions, pork belly on a portugese bun. With matchstick fries, served on a wooden board. Any place where the server says he's starting a support group for burger addicts is worth trying!!
Chef Arik at The Spread nailed it.....best burger and best fries.....
Have to disagree with the Caeseus votes. Not too special. Have had it several times because it sounds great and I always succumb.
Had the burger at the new restaurant Harvest in Greenwich and it was fantastic.
Keep those suggestions coming.
I have tried many of the places above. Some are definites, others strong contenders and some have already been tried and rejected.
My goal is to have a "Top-10 List" and an "Honorable Mention List."
Thanks in advance.
Millwright's in Simsbury -- hands down! Rare, runny egg, duck fat fries. The brioche bun is buttery and grilled on top, gets soaked with bloody meat juice on the bottom. The burger itself is always super salty crispy on the outside but red (or purple if you're lucky like me), delicious prime beef inside. I would love to elaborate but I'm going to go have one now.
Boulevard 18 in New Canaan is absolutely delicious!
I second Plan B (pretzel buns!!) & Station Eats. I'd also throw in Black Duck in Westport (double points for great food in such a sketchy looking place).
I really like the burger at Organic Planet in Greenwich, CT. Amazing local beef cooked to perfection!
Terrains Joe Wolfson's amazing Café Burger with Painted Hills Beef, Caramelized onion, mushroom, cheddar, horseradish aioli, brioche ...and those fries with chipotle ketchup....
LeFarm, Harlan Social, and Elm have great burgers, but my vote has to go to Community table
hooked on plan B!! best carmed onions in the state
The Spread in SoNo
The ones I grind fresh and make at home using prime dry aged rib steak. Don't get into this habit or it will be hard to eat out.
Prime 16 in New Haven is the best by far!
Plan B and The Chelsea rank pretty high up there too. But hands down for me its Prime 16.
