Belgique Chocolatier To Close Both Locations

Belgique Chocolatier, with locations in Kent and New Canaan, CT, will be closing the doors to both locations at the end of October and customers with gift certificates are encouraged to redeem them.

"Owner and chef Pierre Gilissen said he has accepted a job in Washington, D.C., where he will serve as the manager and comptroller of the British ambassador's residence. His role will include supervising about 18 staff members, including chefs, gardeners, butlers and housekeepers, to ensure the residence is maintained and operating at the highest possible standard for the ambassador, his family and the some 15,000 guests who visit each year."

Great news for the Gilssens, but sad news for Connecticut residents. Read the full story on New Canaan News Online.

I am so upset to hear this! I don't live close to either stores so I make it a point to stop in when I'm in the area. The insanely delicious hot chocolate and truffles will be missed!
