Each year, hundreds of children and their parents take part in a Fall celebration in Darien known as the Tokeneke Pumpkin Carnival.  An annual tradition for over forty years, the 2012

The Pumpkin Carnival features attractions for all ages, including a haunted house, amusement park rides and games, rock climbing, a giant inflatable slide, a bake sale and raffle prizes. Carnival participants will also enjoy a wide array of tasty foods and beverages from local Darien restaurants such as Heights Pizza, Burgers Shakes and Fries and Upper Crust Bakery and Cafe.

A few of the new games featured this year are the Zumba Cake Walk, Pumpkin Plinko and the Haunted Treasure Chest.  In addition, this year the Carnival also boasts a designated area for children called Kids Town, featuring all new games that promise to please both little and big kids alike. 

The Tokeneke Parent Teacher Organization (TPTO) is responsible for organizing the Pumpkin Carnival every year. Raffle prizes in past years have featured a BMW pedal car, a JAM Sono gift basket, and an assortment of Vineyard Vines clothing and accessories. And, to top it off, last year’s grand prize was an Xbox Kinect complete with a game.
