The Filling Station Co. August Burger & Shake
The August 2011 Filling Station Special Burger and Shake combine another full flavored hamburger with a sweet flavorful tribute to another of my favorite fruits with the “Steak Burger” matched with a sweet Cherry Shake.
The Steak Burger includes the Filling Station’s farm-raised hamburger topped with the newly introduced secret-recipe steak sauce, raw onions and tomatoes. Similar to last month’s BBQ Special, this month’s special delivers bold flavors to complement the mild organic beef. The FS steak sauce was developed over many months of experimentation to deliver a flavor profile that pays tribute to the Peter Luger Sauce’s vinegary-tomato based variety. The addition of raw onions and tomatoes contribute a crunchy texture plus flavors that nicely complement the meat. Overall, I enjoyed the bold flavors of this month’s special hamburger.
The Cherry Shake begins with cherry syrup that is mixed into the Filling Station Vanilla shake. This month’s shake delivers a much sweeter flavor that last month’s Peaches and Cream. In addition to the sweet cherry flavor, this month’s shake includes chopped cherry bits that can be enjoyed in the last few bites with a spoon. The cherry season is in full swing and this month’s sweet shake complements the vinegary-tomato flavors of the special hamburger.
Filling Station’s August Special Burger and Shake delivers a bold steakburger tradition of tomato and onion toppings plus a sweet in-season cherry shake. Jfood... what's the latest on their Stamford outpost? I had heard they're coming in the fall under another name... will the concept also shift a bit?
Lou- They are indeed coming to Stamford. The build out is going on currently. The concept will be the same, but there will be a much expanded seating area with outdoor tables. We will keep you posted as they get closer.

Hi Lou, thanks for your interest in the new Filling Station Company. We plan on opening our Stamford location (opposite the Palace Theatre on Atlantic Street) in late fall (October - November). The concept and menu will not change. The design and comfort level has been ramped up from version 1.0 to version 5.0. But you will still recognize it as FSC. The only menu addition will be spiked milkshakes (for adults) such as chocolate oreo bourbon shakes, vanilla vodka shakes etc and some local draft beers. The new location seats about 45 inside and 50 - 60 patrons on the outdoor terrace. This outdoor area will serve as a great place to enjoy pitchers of local beers and burgers. Because of our future growth plans (a third company owned store + franchises in 2013), we refined the name so as not to confuse future patrons, franchisees and anybody who claims the name: filling station (of which there are many!). The new name is STATION EATS. The name change will occur in early fall and apply to New Canaan as well. Please stay in touch if you wish to have a preview or be a guinea pig at the soft opening.
