Beer Dinners @ The Ginger Man in SoNo

Here's a little something for the beer drinkers amongst us (the ones tired of hearing about all those darn wine dinners). The Ginger Man is offering monthly beer dinners, each featuring 5 beers from a brewery or importer, paired with and used in a 5 course meal. On Monday August 29th at 7:00 The Ginger Man will be featuring Cisco Brewers from Nantucket Massachusetts!

Here's how it works: The evening kicks off promptly at 7pm with the first round of beers, a light appetizer or salad, accompanied by an introduction to the brewery representative and a little history on the brewery.  4 more courses will follow, including a cheese course and dessert.  During each course the guest brewer will share some information about the beer, as well as how it pairs with the food.

Generally speaking these events will set you back about $75 ticket (subject to change based upon the brewery featured) is all inclusive: 5 courses, 5 beers, tax and gratuity.

And now a note from The Ginger Man: We had these guys in for a dinner last year, and based upon the success and feedback from all of you, we've got them coming back again!

For those of you who came last year, do you remember how good those beers from the "Woods" series were? They were blended, barrel aged, acidic, fruity, such complex & special beers!  Well, this year we're having a couple more from the series that we've never had here before!  The White Woods & The Pechish Woods!  Throw in there a couple classic staples, an entirely new beer to Cisco (shh!  not telling yet!) and Chef Jamie's fantastic pairings & we're going to have a great night!

We regret that we can not offer refunds for beer dinner tickets purchased.  We do require prepayment for the seats, as we will sell out each and every one.  Be sure to make your reservations early so you don't miss out on a great night!

Tickets will be available for $75, tax & tip included, so do not wait to book your seats now before we sell out!

Call The Gingerman at 203.354. 0163 for reservations.

Any sense as to whether they do a vegetarian option for these beer dinners? Website didn't offer much on details regarding the food...

I've got to go to one of these. It's long overdue.

Way past due for a response, but i'll post it anyways.

In regards to the vegetarian option, it is very difficult for us, when serving 65-75 plates at a clip, to offer vegetarian options for the whole menu. To the best of our abilities we will offer a substitute, but ask for our guests understanding that it may be something as simple as an entree salad, vegetable quesadilla, etc. based upon foods already in house. The other side of it is, of course, the pairings are 100% dictated by the beers we are serving, so continuity between the food and beer may be lost when substituting an alternative plate of food. We welcome vegetarians to the dinners, but ask to know of dietary needs when placing the reservation, rather than at arrival for the dinner.
