Maria: Stamford's New Pop-Up Restaurant
Soutterain, food trucks and pop-up restaurants are no longer the domain of city dwellers.
We just received word that Maria, a pop-up restaurant will launch on May 19 in Stamford and operate for two weekends a month over the next year at 112 Southfield Avenue. The space is a production studio by day and for two weekends a month will be transformed into a restaurant. Each month a celebrity guest chef will create a menu, stage the space, and serve diners a multi-course meal often paired with wines reflecting his/her culinary approach.
Chef Dave Martin, of TOP CHEF fame, will cook for the inaugural meal at Maria, his menu includes a four-course meal paired with wines selected by sommeliers, Brett Clugston, Albe Galotta and Sandra Muller.
Update: Reservations for the dinner/chef demonstration are required and begin at $197 per person for the 67-seat event. Portions of the proceeds will benefit "End Hunger CT."
