The Fall/Winter schedule for Barcelona Restaurant Group's wine and cocktail events has been released. You'll find it complete with education on wine pairings, tasting menus, and mixology 101 "Cocktail Classroom" evenings. These unique events allow guests to experience Barcelona more intimately in small groups designed to inform and tantalize. Get up close and personal with one of the many talented Barcelona chefs as well as Gretchen Thomas, Barcelona's Wine and Sprits Director. Check out the line up below: 

Fiesta de la Vendimia Tuesday, October 25th  / Barcelona Stamford / 7:00 pm

$52 per person*

Fiestas de la Vendimia is one of the oldest grape harvest festivals in Spain, celebrated throughout the country in honor of the new vintages of wine and the Summer’s vegetable harvests. On October 25th, we are paying tribute to the some of our favorite Spanish wineries  by hosting a four course season-inspired dinner prepared by Chef Scott Quis accompanied with wine pairings from top appellations of Spain. 

Halloween in Jerez Sunday, October 30th / Barcelona SoNo  / 6:00 pm

$62 per person ALL INCLUSIVE ($53 for attendees in costume)

Looking for something more interesting to do for celebrating Halloween? Join us at Barcelona SoNo for our first ever “Halloween in Jerez” party! This party will start with a sherry wine and food pairing seminar led by Wine and Spirits Director, Gretchen Thomas, followed by original Jerez inspired cocktails by our top mixologists and passed tapas prepared by Exec Chef Jodi Bernhard. All wrapped up with music, dancing and a porron drinking contest! Come in costume and receive 15% off the ticket price. 

“The Cocktail Classroom” – Whiskey Creations Wednesday, November 9th / Barcelona Fairfield / 7:00pm

Please welcome the seventh installment of our new event series, the Cocktail Classroom. These fun and informal classes are designed to demystify the art of making delicious drinks. Join Barcelona Fairfield’s lead bartenders as they demonstrate how to prepare delicious drinks with the fastest growing spirit category in the US – whiskey. Executive Chef Helton Da Silva will be cooking up some cocktail friendly bites while we learn about the best American whiskies and how to enjoy them in drinks.  

Food and Wine Pairing Class Thursday, November 17th / Barcelona West Hartford / 7:00 pm

Ever wanted to understand the process of pairing wine and food together properly? While I am a firm believer in “good food plus good wine equals a good time,” there are some standard rules to follow to make sure your wine of choice doesn’t kill the flavor of your food and vice versa. Join Executive Chef Adam Greenberg and I as we unravel the mystery of food and wine pairing with a tasting of some of my favorite wines from around the globe along side some signature creations by Chef Adam.

Join Barcelona Greenwich’s lead bartenders as they demonstrate how to prepare some easy and refreshing drinks with various and interesting styles of rum. The Executive Chef will be cooking up some cocktail friendly bites while we learn about the best rums and how to enjoy them in drinks.

“The Cocktail Classroom” – The Classics Wednesday, January 18th / Barcelona New Haven / 7:00 pm

Please welcome the ninth installment of our new event series, the Cocktail Classroom. These fun and informal classes are designed to demystify the art of making delicious drinks. Join Barcelona New Haven’s lead bartenders as they demonstrate how to prepare some of the most classic and noteworthy cocktails from the 20th century. Executive Chef Frank Proto will be preparing some “vintage” inspired bar bites to pair with the drinks, come thirsty!

Barcelona “UnCorked” Wednesday, February 8th / Barcelona Fairfield / 7:00 pm

This is our fifth annual “Uncorked” wine tasting, where we open more than 30 of our much-loved selections – including all the new wines we discovered in our latest travels to South America and Spain that are recently imported especially for Barcelona. With nearly 400 wines on our list now, many from obscure regions of Spain and South America, we want to entice our wine-loving customers with a chance to try many of our unknown, hidden gems. This walk-around tasting will include wine-friendly passed tapas and our famous Paella Grande by our Fairfield Chef, Helton Da Silva. Don’t miss out on finding your new favorite wine!

Carnivale Celebration! Tuesday, February 21st / Barcelona SoNo / 7:00 pm

Celebrate ‘Fat Tuesday’ (or el Martes Gordo) at our fifth annual Carnival Celebration. Traditionally considered the last evening of decadence before Lent, Carnivale is celebrated famously in many cities across the globe, including Madrid, Venice, Rio de Janeiro and New Orleans. This party will include the latest Spanish and South American wine additions to the wine list, passed tapas and pintxos by Executive Chef Jodi Bernhard and musical entertainment. Come prepared to dance and party!
