Kids Activity: Make Your Own Healthier Bomb Pop

Do you remember those Bomb Pops from your childhood...the patriotically colored frozen treats that turned your mouth that great shade of blue? We found a recipe for a healthier version using natural juices, fresh fruit, and frozen yogurt. This fun project allows kids to get involved in the creation and coloring of their very own pops. It is a great activity for summer, and both parents and kids will be thrilled with the tasty and healthy results.

Here is the full recipe from the Honest Fare web site with step by step photos and directions.

When shopping for your ingredients, we recommend Stew Leonard's for the ice cream and frozen yogurt in this recipe, and Whole Foods or Trader Joe's both have a good selection of organic juice. If you have the time or inclination to seek out real fresh juice for your frozen goodies, try The Organic Market in Westport, The Stand (31 Wall Street) in Norwalk, or Mrs. Green's Natural Market (1916 Post Road) in Fairfield.
