Easy Summer Project-Making Maki Rolls

(Image:Kathryn Hill)Looking for a good healthy summer project for your kids? Why not give them a chance to finally play with their food while making hand-rolled vegetable maki sushi rolls. It's better than play dough because they can eat it afterwards, and it will get your kids excited about eating sushi. This How To guide features veggies, but you could use smoked salmon, cooked shrimp, or even BBQ Chicken. You can find the complete article with step by step How To's on kitchn's food blog.

Here is where your little sushi chefs can buy their maki makings:

Oriental Food Market - off the Route 7 connector, Exit 1
(203) 847-0070
109 New Canaan Ave
Norwalk, CT

Kamsen Foods - (Reader's Tip: across the street is great Dim Sum at a place called
Aberdeen Seafood & Dim Sum)
(914) 428-4500
22 Barker Ave
White Plains, NY 10601
