April is National Grilled Cheese month, and Fairfield Cheese Company is celebrating with a class called “Beyond Kraft Singles: Grilled Cheese.”  Join them on Tuesday April 3 from 7-9pm.  It costs $50 per person. 

Jesup Hall is launching their new Happy Hour Tuesday April 3rd. Dimitrios Zahariadis from Litchfield Distillery and Highland Brass Company will be joining Craig Ventrice behind the bar serving specialty cocktails, snacks, burgers and more! The Happy Hour will run Tuesday-Friday from 5-6pm.

Food and drink meets art at Brother Jimmy’s on Tuesday April 3.  The New Haven location is extending their happy hour specials and hosting a Paint Night from 7:30-9:30pm.  $25 and tax includes the canvas, easel, paint, brushes, and apron. 

Brewport is honoring First Responders on Tuesday April 3 from 3:30-5:30pm.  Show your badge and get some pizza on the house.

On Friday April 6, Chef Joel Viehland is teaming up with Pam Yung, Louise Bannon, and Cortney Burns for a “Friends of Swyft” collaboration dinner.  Swyft is located at 3 Maple Street in Kent and reservations can be made online through Resy. 

On Thursday April 5, Instructor Kathy Oberman Tracy will teach you all about “Sheet Pan Suppers.” Learn to make a variety of easy yet delicious one-pan meals, integrating proteins, fresh veggies, and distinct flavor profiles.  The class will take place at Wakeman Town Farm from 7-9pm.  Feel free to BYOB!  Register online for $65 per person. 

The Wharf at the Madison Beach Hotel now has “Tuesday Tastings,” which feature local purveyors and foods with paired wines and spirits.  Past participants have included Matteson’s Maple Syrup, Connecticut Grown Oysters, Thimble Island Beers, Shoreline Vine, Mad Hill Farm, Maple Breeze Farm and Mystic Cheese.

Mohegan Sun’s Sun Whiskey Union returns on Friday April 6!  Guests can sample an impressive selection of whiskey, scotch, bourbon, rye, and craft cocktails.  The event runs from 8-11pm and tickets are $50. 

The Westport Country Playhouse invites you to a 2018 Season Kick-off Party on Saturday April 7 from 5-8pm.  The event will feature local food trucks, beer tastings, exhibits, special ticket discounts, and cast members from future productions.  Admission is free and open to the public with food and drink available for purchase.

Calabro Cheese is teaming up with Overshores Brewing Company and Armada Brewing for a pairing of 5 different beers with 5 cheeses.  The event will take place at Overshores Brewing Company in East Haven on Saturday April 7 from 5:30-6:30pm.  Tickets are $20 each. 

Kinsmen Brewing Company in Milldale will have “Hops for Hope” on Saturday April 7 starting at 12pm.  The event will support The Ascenders team, which will climb in the “Fight for Air Climb” to benefit the American Lung Association.  A $30 ticket includes 1 free beer, all you can eat pizza from Sauced, live music, a photo booth, games, raffles, and more. 

On Sunday, April 8, MAX Restaurant Group is hosting the third annual Dine for a Cause to benefit Autism Speaks.  They will donate 10 percent of sales from that day to the organization.

New Haven Restaurant Week begins on Sunday April 8 and lasts through the 13.  Participating restaurants will offer prix fixe menus for lunch and dinner, which are $17 and $34 per person respectively.  Participants include Cask Republic, ROIA, Shell & Bones, Geronimo, Miya’s Sushi, and more. 

Mikro invites you to the 4th Annual Greenhouse Beer Festival on Sunday April 8 from 1-4pm.  It will take place at Michael’s Greenhouses of Cheshire. 

Relic Brewing Company in Plainville now offers guests the chance to sample spirits alongside their craft brews.  Customers can order ½ oz or 1 oz pours of any of the 800+ spirits in the brewery’s collection or can try one of the rotating spirit flights.

Harlan Publick’s happy hour now includes a $5 snack menu with favorites such as Harlan Burger Sliders, Korean Fried Chicken, Truffle Tots, and more. 

April break is almost here and you can register for Wakeman Town Farm’s camp for those in grades 1-5.  Join them April 9-13 from 9am-1pm.  Kids can care for the farm’s animals, create snacks in the kitchen, do crafts, and more.
