Nibble: CT Food Events for January 15-22

The Hops Company (THC) in Derby hosts their first game dinner on January 17.  Partake in dishes like Wild Game Sausages, Native Duck, Wild Boar Osso Buco, and Chocolate “Moose” alongside beer or wine.  It costs $65 per person.  

On January 18, Nouveau Monde Wine Bar in Newtown presents a Ramey wine pairing dinner at 6:30pm.  The evening features 4-courses alongside complimentary wines.  

The Spotted Horse in Westport offers a "Wine and Dine Wednesday" promotion all day.  Bottles under $100 are 50% and bottles over $100 are 25% off.  

Walrus + Carpenter invites you to one of their popular Brewgrass & Pig Roast events starting at 7:30pm on January 19.  Listen to melodies as Walrus + Carpenter dishes up a whole hog. 

New Canaan Wine Merchants will have a wine class about Tuscan Wines on Thursday January 19.  It lasts from 7:00-8:30pm and includes cheese from the Darien Cheese Shop.

Now through February 2, Ordinary in New Haven is offering a Michter’s Rare Whiskey Flight for $100.  Purchase tickets online to try a one-ounce pour of the 10-year rye, 10-year bourbon, and 20-year, accompanied by a cheese and meat board.  

Wave Hill Breads now offers bread making classes!  On Saturday January 21, learn all about “The Magic of Wild Yeast Sourdough” in conjunction with Wilton Continuing Education.  You can also catch Wave Hill Breads on Saturdays from 10-2 at the Westport Farmers' Market.  

Beer is delicious, but it’s not above the law.  Mikro Beer Bar in Hamden is featuring the infamous beers that have had legal action taken against them in a “Cease and Desist Brunch” on January 22.  Keep an eye on their Facebook page for additional information. 

A magician opened a restaurant in Shelton.  It’s not a punchline of a joke… it’s true!  Magic Café is open for breakfast and lunch.  Try their signature plate, the Houdini Burger, which consists a half pound Angus Beef, a fried egg, Pepper Jack and Cheddar Cheese, 2 slices of Bacon, and a Pretzel Roll.  www.MagicCafeCT.com 

Prime Stamford is celebrating their first anniversary with a special menu now through January 22.  A three course prix fixe dinner is available before 7pm on Saturdays.  It costs $65 with wine pairings and $50 without.
