On Tuesday October 18, Fleisher’s Craft Butchery in Westport will teach you all about “Goat & Lamb 101.”  Learn about the anatomy, techniques for preparing the meat, where it comes from, and more.  It lasts from 7-9pm and costs $100 per person.  Buy tickets in advance online.

Thread City Hopfest: Oktoberfest unfolds at Willimantic Brewing Company on October 20 from 6-9pm.  A Cupcake for Later, Cafemantic, and Willimantic Brewing Company will prepare Oktoberfest inspired dishes will the brewery pours seasonal brews.  Tickets are $30 in advance of $40 at the gate. Admission includes a commemorative Oktoberfest stein, and 4 half pours.  Additional beer can be purchased.  

The Stamford Ferguson Library’s Friends Literary Pub Crawl takes place on October 18.  Journey to Hudson Grille, Bar Rosso and Del Frisco's Grille. Tickets are $15 and include happy hour pricing and entertainment at each location.

The Cheesecake Factory opens in Stamford on October 18.

TruNorth has been open for a year.  To celebrate, join them for their 1 year anniversary party on Wednesday October 19 starting at 5pm.  All night long, there will be $5 Draft Beers, $5 House Wines, and $5 Cocktails.  A DJ begins at 9pm.  

The latest installation of the Griswold Inn’s Autumn Wine Series takes place on Thursday, October 20 with “The Rhone Meets Columbia Valley.”  Guest presenter Mike Wiley of Chateau Ste. Michelle will ead you through “Tenet Wines,” a partnership between Rhone Winemaker Michel Gassier and Washington State's Chateau Ste. American Cheese Month continues with the Fairfield & Greenwich Cheese Company.  On Saturday October 22, Patrick Apfel of Cochran Farm will be at the Fairfield store from 1-4pm while Veronica Pedraza of Meadowood Farm visits the Greenwich store from 1-4pm.

How about an evening of Blues, BBQ, Bourbon, and Beer? AIDS Project New Haven invites you to Blues, Barbeque, Bourbon & Beer at the New Haven Country Club, with food from La Cuisine, live music, beer tasting, bourbon tasting, and a silent auction on October 22.  

Nicholas Roberts will host its annual Harvest Tasting on Saturday, October 22 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at The Landing in Stamford.  It goes to benefit Turning Wine Into Water, an organization that strives to bring potable water to impoverished regions.

Enjoy a Sunday Supper On Waldingfield Farm: An afternoon meal in celebration of CT NOFA’s organic mission on Sunday, October 23.  There will be a sparkling wine reception at 2pm followed by a tour of the farm.  Then, Chef Jason Sobocinski of Caseus Fromagerie & Bistro will prepare a 3 course meal with beer pairings.
