Monday May 12, Napa & Co in Stamford invites you to help them finish off the last of some single vintage wines before they restock the cellar. Cocktail style event with family style food and vino galore! Reservations required – limited to 25 people.

Ted’s Montana Grill in Hartford officially opens its doors on Monday May 12! Ted Turner, a philanthropist, environmentalist and avid outdoorsman joined forces with famed restaurateur George McKerrow Jr.  The restaurant embodies Big Sky Country and its tradition of hearty food.

American Craft Beer Week is May 12-18 and the Gingerman locations are celebrating with beer dinners.

On Monday May 12, the Gingerman in SONO will hold a Stone Brewing Co. Dinner in honor of Craft Beer Week. 5 hard to find brews, including the Go to IPA (cask conditioned) and Ruination, will complement 5 courses. On Wednesday May 14, the Greenwich Gingerman will have a Goose Island Beer Dinner.  This paired dinner features six beers, including brews not yet readily available in this area.  Tickets are $85, tax and tip included.  (203) 861-6400.

Tuesday May 13, learn to make “Spring Vegetable Tapas” at Barcelona New Haven. Learn how to shop & prepare recipes using fresh, seasonal ingredients that pack in great flavors. On Wednesday May 14, Jones Family Winery in Shelton continues their “Sip and Savor America the Beautiful” with New Orleans, Louisiana.  From, 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM they will offer guests a light-hearted yet knowledgeable discussion on the pairing of foods and wines. Inspired by New Orleans, the family-style farm-inspired menu will feature oyster rockefeller, smoky tasso ham jambalaya, and bananas foster.  Seating is limited, pre-registration is required through the website: jonesfamilyfarms.com/events/winery 

Max Downtown in Hartford, CT will have a Kenzo Estate Wine Dinner on Thursday May 15.  Winemaker Heidi Barrett (Screaming Eagle) and vineyard manager David Abreu (Harlan Estate, Bryant Family, Colgin) are the minds behind the wines.  Max Downtown will host a Connecticut exclusive with assistant winemaker Marc Nanes on Thursday May 15th after his visits with 11 Madison Park (Danny Meyer) and Per Se (Thomas Keller) in New York City. $175 per person, not including tax & gratuity. 

On Friday May 16, the Fresh Market in Westport invites you to attend a free cooking demonstration on how to prepare a Wine Poached Berry Trifle.  Join them anytime between 3pm – 6pm as their professional chef demonstrates all the steps necessary to prepare this delicious recipe at home. Following the demonstration, stay and enjoy a tasty sampling.

Friday is also another “Open House” at Half Full Brewery in Stamford.  Every other Friday, come down to the Brewery from 5:30-8:30pm, $15 gets you in the door armed with a Half Full branded recycled plastic pint glass.  THE TAPS WILL BE OPEN. While there, try your hand at bags, life-size jenga, draw on our chalkboard wall, or just enjoy some great conversation over great beers.

On Saturday May 17, Savor some fine wines, sample delicious foods and browse fine home furnishings during a special evening fund-raiser for the Maritime Aquarium at the Lillian August Warehouse in South Norwalk.  New Canaan Wine Merchants will present wines from around the world to sample and local restaurants, including Mama's Boy Southern Table, Donovan's, Chocopoligie, Guvnor's Brewery, Stew Leonard's and The SoNo Brewhouse will provide samplings of their fare. And Aquarium educators will staff a touch tank featuring live animals from Long Island Sound.  Tickets are $25 ($20 for Aquarium members), with proceeds going to The Maritime Aquarium. St Peters Episcopal Church on the Monroe Green is hosting its Annual Wine Tasting Event on Saturday, May 17th from 6:00-8:00 PM. "Spring Fling" will feature seven wines from seven countries.  Each wine will be paired with a food offering traditional to each country and complimentary to the wine... 7 courses from appetizer to dessert!  Cost is $30 per person and includes a keepsake glass!  Tickets are available at the door. 

Otis and the Hurricanes will play Saturday night May 17 at Mama’s Boy in Norwalk.  They play the roots of American Rock n Roll influenced by Fats Domino, Professor Longhair, Little Feat, The Funky Meters, Alan Toussaint, Delbert McClinton, and Chuck Berry. 10-close.
