On Tuesday October 28, Harlan Social presents a New World vs. Old World Wine Dinner.  Called their “largest event to date,” it will feature a custom 5-course menu paired with 12 premium wines.  There will be a 7:00pm reception followed by dinner. $178pp all-inclusive. 

There will be a Halloween Party at South End in New Canaan starting at 9pm on Wednesday October 29.  $42 gets you unlimited beer, wine, specialty cocktails, and snacks.  Enjoy live music while you party.

Walrus+Carpenter and Mecha Noodle Bar partner on Thursday October 30 for a “BO SSäM Dinner.”   The mission is to bring together East Asian flavors with Western smoking techniques for one incredible evening, inspired by cult film, "Way of The Dragon," starring the high kicking, fast punching Lee and Norris. 7pm $100 pp.

Barcelona SoNo is teaming up with The Spread for a Second Annual Halloween Party. The event starts at 9 PM on Halloween, Friday, October 31st.  There will be DJs, drink specials, and a costume contest with fabulous prizes!

On Nov 1st, Bodega Taco Bar (both locations) will celebrate "Dia de los Muertos," A Mexican Celebration that Welcomes Departed Spirits Home.  Enjoy:  Face Painting and Tattoos During Lunch,  Food Specials Honoring the Deceased All Week, Traditional Sugar Skull Decorating, Special Cocktails Featuring Roca Patron Tequila + Saturday Night Party with Patron Tastings and a Pig Roast In Darien.

Joe Bastianich will come to Stew Leonard’s Wines in Norwalk on Saturday November 1. You can visit with him and taste 6 of his family’s Bastianich wines from 12-2pm.   He’ll also sign bottles purchased that day. 

The Stamford Lions Club will host a Pancake Breakfast on Sunday November 2 from 9am-1pm.  It will be held at the Belltown Firehouse on Dorlen Road, off of Newfield Avenue in Stamford.  It is $8 per person while kids under 8 are just $5.  Kids are encouraged to come dressed in their Halloween costumes.

Also on Sunday Nov 2, Craft 260 will hold a Beerfest that benefits Community Plates.  11 local breweries will come together for a parking lot party to help fight hunger from 1-4pm. 

On March 7, 2014 Michael Pedicini, Jr., a local executive chef, suffered an aortic dissection and went into multisystem organ failure.  He was given a 5% chance of surviving.  Due to complications from sepsis, he slipped into a coma and he lost all fingers and both of his feet.  He spent three months in intensive care and many did not think he would survive, but miraculously he did.  Join the New Canaan Chamber of Commerce and his family in helping raise money for his recovery.  Visit this website for information on donating and upcoming events: http://www.gofundme.com/cin5qw
