Eat, Play, Read @ The Ferguson Library in Stamford

Stephanie Webster

The Ferguson Library is serving up an amazing evening of food, spirits and entertainment to benefit the library May 19 from 6 – 9 p.m. "Eat, Play, Read" will feature dishes from some of Fairfield County's top chefs, alongside wine, beer and a premium whiskey tasting. A live auction, and jazz with Cookie Thomas and his band are all part of this exceptional evening. All proceeds go to support the library.

Here is the Restaurant/Chef lineup:

Barcelona: Celebrity Chef Christian Petroni of Barcelona Greenwich was awarded the Grand Prize on The Food Network's Chopped. He will be serving Jamon Serrano, sliced on a vintage 1936 hand crank meat slicer, as well as Albondigas (Spanish style meatballs) with Whipped Queso Fresco w/ Peasant Bread.

Napa & Co is serving their decadent Duck and Foie Gras Meatballs. Those in the know will be seen racing for their table. Chef Arik will also be serving Seared Tuna Tartar on House Potato Crisp.

Frank & Julio Complete Event Planning will be cooking Bourbon Braised Pulled Port Sliders, Cole Slaw and Pecan Molasses Cake with Bourbon Glaze (needless to say, they'll be paired with the bourbon tasting!).

For something a little more exotic, Judith Roll of Tabouli Grill will be serving her Lamb Tagine with Preserved Lemon Cous Cous.

A & S Fine Foods will be transforming their table into a a visual and gastronomical Antipasti delight. And this time, they'll be serving a pasta selection as well.

For the seafood lover, Capriccio Cafe will be featuring Shellfish Pasta. While New Wave Seafood will provide succulent shrimp.

On the sweeter side, La Dolce Vita Chocolate & More will be offering a Chocolate Fountain with Strawberries, Bananas, Pretzels and Marshmallows (because you've got to have chocolate and marshmallows!).

The Fez, Quattro Pazzi, and Butterfield 8, and Coalhouse Pizza will also be serving some of their classic dishes.

In addition to all this great food and drink, Cookie Thomas and his band will be playing jazz, there will be a live auction, and tours of the newly renovated library. And last, but certainly not least, tickets ($125) are available by calling 203 351-8205 or online at www.fergusonlibrary.org.

Haven’t seen the Main Library since the renovation? We’ll be conducting tours too.

It's an evening you won't want to miss!
